Did they ever find it? it went up yes... but as far as I know they never found the "Head" containing all the recorded info / total height / speed etc, was it ever verified?? dam I use to make rockets out of firecrackers lol
Yes. That is what I comment them for. Are you dumb. I comment them because I like them, and I am a fan and it makes me mad when people who don't like them waste their time commenting them when they have nothing good to say about it. Kay?
Good on us NZ'ers for havin a crack but it makes me laugh at our 3rd world effort on farm with Barry crumps hilux in a fucking tin shed with a noisey generator muffling the audio launching a fucking rocket on an overcast day! Cmon guys lift ya game.
Well Waiouru comes with its own problems not to mention is a military operations area, if permission could be had for amateur and professional based launches then so be it :)
@Atevra I expect a response tomorrow from them. We have a rocket with an N or O motor which will go up to about 40 000ft. I will let you know if they let us. Cheers
@mattathm You know nothing about rocket science so you should not speak.
This is the NZ way...the rocket was sophisticated but smallish..new technology. This was a test launch for new systems and altitude as well. Notice there is no smoke behind the rocket like NASA and European Space Agencies rockets have... think about it dude.
Haha...forget Iran and North Korea, it's New Zealand that America should be afraid of... can you spell ICBM?. Headlines read 'NZ enters Space-Race' ...too bad that race ended forty years ago. "Was that an earthquake I just felt?" ..."no that was NASA rolling on the floor laughing it's arse off"
@panzr why would they laugh, their technology is old; this is new. If you are a size freak then you are wrong when it comes to rockets: smaller is better. They will no doubt be knocking on Peter Becks door: he is a Genius.
actually Nasa are fully supportive of this venture and this is a business venture, NOT a space race! knockers like you should just go live in Aussie and stay there
@panzr STOP FUCKING TROLLING THIS FUCKING VIDEO YOU FAG, AAARGH, YOU IDIOT THIS ROCKET MAKES SUB-ORBITAL SPACEFLIGHT CHEAPER THAN IT USED TO BE THERFORE THIS ROCKET IS A VERY GOOD DEVELOPMENT IN REUSABLE SUB-ORBITAL ROCKETS, SO FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!
hahahaha only in new zealand would the countries first space rocket launch look so unprofessional and be launched by a couple of guys in jeans and a t-shirt
It costs on average twenty-thousand dollars to send one KILOGRAM of matter into space - if you want to put an Astronaut or even a Satellite into space it adds up very quickly. It's a great achievement for our country but our "garden shed" kiwi ingenuity is nothing compared to their decades of research and massive budgets.
Nice! I am a bit late. So what happened after this?

I wonder how long before they are able to put something in to orbit, eg micro-satellites. It is at least only up from here!

3rd world effort? why don't you give them some more money and it will be like what you see governments doing in other country's.
Whats wrong with a hilux? very reliable and will take them anywhere on the island.
No where else in NZ to launch it apart from a farm.
