@ rockymountainrandom..... that what was known as the "concorde countdown"...unlike regular subsonic planes, that begin a slow roll down the runway as they take off and build speed...the concorde would take position at the end of the runway, and on the count 3-2-1, the pilot would throw all 4 afterburners on at once (38,000 lbs of thrust multiplied by 4 engines) and that would allow the concorde to go from zero to 280mph take off speed in under 30 seconds..
No, you cant feel nor hear the sonic boom. I flew Air France back in the early 1990's from Paris to New York. Concorde arrived in about 2 hours a head of time of departure, a bit weird, but its ok. Frankly speaking, the cabin and seat is not as comfortable as the existing First or Buss Class nowdays, its just the speed. Air fare is the highest at the time, so its more worth it for business people to travel. A real pity, Concorde is not flying anymore after the tragic accident in Paris.
@xfathead41x..... Sod off mate....grow some hair on your bullocks...get out of your bedroom and go see the world a bit like i have then you can correct me on things...
@Suzla1 ...i tried my best ot capture the experience as best i could...i couldnt tape all aspects from every angle...i was only one person taping while also being thrilled by the experience of being on board such a beautiful plane...
learn to laugh man.... learn to take a joke...relax man.... its all in fun....but then again youre only 21.....i was full of piss and vinegar once and thought i knew it all and was a bad ass...you'll grow up one day....maybe
Whoa the sky at 7:42 is phenomenal. It looks like your actually out of earth! I would love to have flown in one of those depending on price but at this point even if they did bring them back it would be too sketchy.
@ abaj001.....at 4;50 in the video...the reaction you hear is when the pilot cut off all 4 afterburners after takeoff... when rolling down the runway..concorde is using all 4 afterburners or 38,000 lbs of thrust x 4 engines....and taking off at 270 mph....about 1 minute after liftoff....the pilots have to cut out all 4 afterburners out of consideration of the noise levels on the suburbs surrounding Heathrow Airport
@Jll3001...the reason why they stopped the concorde was a combination of the failing world economy...airbus which is the company that provided the parts for concorde didnt want to keep production costs to maintain parts for the aircraft.... passenger volume was down. yes, it was an amazing honor to ride on such a legendary aircraft
Why did they abandon the concorde flights? I mean, it only crashed once right?
Though this looks like an awesome aircraft to fly in, must've been a great honor for you to be able to participate on one of the few flights it only had!
Very cool video. Letting you film while boarding the plane and the cockpit door open, so you can watch the pilots. Those days are long gone......great footage.
crazy how they let you into the cockpit while flying back in the 90's. now if you standup on a plane without having to go to the bathroom you got an undercover starin you down
Im so jelous im 16 at the moment but from the age of about 4 to the age of 9 ive always wanted to be a concorde pilate when i grew up. Ive always wanted to take the concorde service to barbados and now it seems ill never be able to :(
you were so high in the sky is was almost dark an going 1200 mph! thats crazy has hell! i would of been alittle freaked out!, they should build new ones an use them in the states! fun video
@romengg That is the power back point- Its when the afterburners are switched off after leaving the Heathrow fence to keep residents happy. It creates a back falling feeling in the cabin because of the fast decrease in power. You will notice that the cabin seems much more quiet after this point too.
@flyer92ify yeah much like the shutdown of the first/second stages of the early boosters used by NASA, ecspecaily the saturn V. That same effect on the saturn was quoted by a few astronaughts as saying it felt like being catapulted throught the dashboard
That was great. I have been looking for a really good perspective of a take-off from the cabin that gives a sense of what it would have been like. This is the best take-off from the cabin I have ever seen of all the concorde material.
your so lucky

What happened at 4:49 after the pilot said "3, 2, 1"? Was that when it broke the sound barrier? I couldn't hear what the pilot was saying.

If it wasn't for all this cabin strikes, then maybe BA would have enough money to build another supersonic aircraft (hopefully safer).
