Con Edison is one of the richest utilities, yes. BUT the underground electrical system they have in manhattan, queens, brooklyn, and the bronx is by far one of the most complex. This is why no one wants to buy out Con Ed. Plus most of the wire that is in the ground right now is over 50 years old and insulations goes bad and things blow up
I think comcast cable is the highest paid utility company!.. they want to suck you in for cable modem, premium cable and phone service.. People are paying upwards of $200 a month just to comcast cable. It's not a necessity but people like myself right now depend on the internet for income while I'm out of work. The government forces energy companies to freeze their prices for consumers for years while the cost of producing the energy rises. So now people are pissed that the price is going up.
