also, can you throttle it really slow to where its just puttin, say for instance if you put a heavy fly wheel on it so you where just lugging the engine, kinda like a steam engine, ive been wanting to do that with one of these
@hadabeesago There is no point in doing this. Model engines like this are ported to work efficiently on high revs. The mixture I use is per 1/3 parts ether, kerosene and castor oil.
Get it hot at the end of the run by pinching the fuel line til it stops lean, and do not run it too rich or you will wash away the chips. Do this 6-8 times.
Cool, I like PAW's too, but a diesel should not be broken in rich. Ironically. it is the hard chips of steel that are worn off the steel cylinder that embed in the softer cast iron piston that break in the cylinder as it runs in. The piston is made of a very special cast iron that expands ever so slightly when heated then cooled that maximizes the compression.
I do not know what the exact composition of 20% Quick start is. However, try to find pure ether. Adding too much ether content will cause explosive detonations in the engine and will ruin it. Remember- ether is just for ignition, your real fuel is kerosene.
@RFTAEC100 Nope, unless you convert it to diesel. This is a "diesel" engine, that's why it uses that particular fuel mix. Your OS .46 is a glow engine and you should use glow fuel, ie methanol, nitromethane and oil according to OS instructions.
Is it running with car diesel fuel?

@szentagostonka No. 1/3 paraffin (oil for lamps), 1/3 ethyl ether and 1/3 castor oil...

what mix ratio are you using for your fuel??

Im having trouble finding ether for my model diesal,
Would 20% Quick start be ok? Maybe if i put a little more then the standard 1 oil, 1 kero , 1 etherr Maybe 2 ether?

@tifosaurus Can I run this fuel mixture on my OS .46?? and what are the cuantities and correct ingredients?
