I'd like to know a few of the needs for Algebra, b/c I haven't really seen any of them yet, not even with I.V. calculations. Mostly b/c the doctor calculates the dosage and we just give them the dose the doctor says, or the therapeutic dose, which has ALSO been calculated by the doctor. Or the people who did the tests.
Even with all that, there are still 2% of the population who reacts adversely to new medication, but that's a different topic.
This is absolutely awesome! I was on the Mathletes team in high school back in the seventies and have a BSN and MSN but I am now prepping to take the GRE again to apply for my PhD in nursing. What a fabulous review resource!! Thank you!!!
@kewillie Why don't you become a doctor, then? They make more money than most nurses.
I'm not especially crazy for nurses since one of the ER Nurses told our patient we're useless, saying so right in front of the patient, the entire ER and God's own world.
We reported her to the Director of Nursing and, of course, she lied about it. Even though an EMT, paramedic and Manager of EMS heard her do it.
Sal, I thought Differentials is Calc IV, for juniors, not sophomores. Mulivariable Calc (Calc III) and Linear Algebra is sophomore. Differentials are introduced in Calc II briefly.
In september i will go to college(cegep) thus ill be doing calc-phys-biology. Does the vids u have for each subject correspond well the program? Sould i see them all in the summer before i start college? It would be kind if u can reply..Thx
@InvalidReject the calculus should be pretty intuitive. For basic mechanics and engineers electromagnetism, you really don't need calculus. For physicist's physics, you do need calculus but like vector calculus and linear algebra because it's much much more in depth.
My physics class says that you need a good understanding of Calculus I, II & III before taking it... it's not algebra based in other words...And I was just wondering if Sal could make some videos on that since i will be taking it next semester.. My university offers Algebra-based Physics and Calculus based physics... I haven't taken the algebra based one since I only need the Calculus one and I'm wondering if it's the same thing?
@InvalidReject yah man, you don't need calc 2 or cal 3, and you'll barely need cal 1. Any good beginning physics textbook will have all the calculus in it, when you need it. Which isn't much at all. The stuff that is covered in engineering physics is usually tedious algebra derivations, at most. Usually they'll just teach you the concept. Sometimes, just the equation. It's not really physics as physicists think of because physics for majors is like rigorous calculus from the beginning.
@InvalidReject If major's physics can use your credit up, I would highly highly recommend taking that instead of engineer's. It's more rigorous but the average engineering physics class is pretty much a joke.
Are you considering publishing some of this content on a DVD with an interactive menu based on the tree graph you just introduced, I would love to have that!!!
I think you should consider putting a search box on your website which will make it easier to get the required video because sometimes we want to get to the particular topic rather than doing the whole playlist.
I was actually a khanacademy website user but then I switched to your youtube channel since it has all those search boxes which make navigation easier.

@haloapa @sal I agree. This is a tough area for most students.. would be great to have it included in the Khan 'Rock-cademy'.

Are you going to make a calculus equivalent to the algebra standards tests?

Wow Khan, you've grown so massive that you need a map on how to get around your playlists. This is equally impressive and funny to me.

You forgot to mention probability. Would that come right after algebra or somewhere else along the branch?

@zachem66 I would watch it right after statistics. Although it repeats some of the concepts there.

give it a chance, ok?
Great job, btw - great classes! - i think i could understand a bit of L'Hôpital rule with your aid! (i am a medical student!)
keep up the good job!! - the website looks great!
