  • good song! :)

  • Yeah, this song was totally woven into my psyche before I even understood basically anything about what this song is about. There's a real magic to the harmonies, and the vibe of the song. Very melancholy yet uplifting. Yearning, lost, angry, desperate. Interesting song!

  • is this about drugs?!

  • I feel depressed when I pay attention to these lyrics... but the song's still amazing!

  • one of the best songs ever recorded by an Australian band !!!

  • Such a classic. One of those songs that everyone knows. Classic Aussie rock that's for sure.

  • Absolute classic!

  • really good song about a social issue.

  • @buck3253 ive only heard the song a few weeks ago its not about drugs its a message to the skinners not to skin there friends thats why he says at the end of song ''dont tell this Paradise''

  • @buck3253 how do you know it is not a song dedicated to the Adelaide suburb of Paradise?

but yeah its reffering to cocaine. *no i am not in adelaide, or SA at all. i am in perth FYI*

  • @dragospastic im a POM and i had a couple of mates over here trying their hardest to get Australian Crawl, Jimmy Barnes, Cold Chisel albums ect and to be honest 10-12 years ago getting hold of them overseas was like trying to find rocking horse shite !! I wouldnt put the blame on AC/DC, surely some promoter or band managers at the time didnt do their job properly, but i see your point. Im hoping with the internet, you tube ect they will eventually get the credit they deserve.

  • ACDC destroyed Australian music. They're great and all, but when people think of Australian music, its always ACDC and no one else. We had so many talented bands in the 80's and 90's but they never got their well deserved recognition.

  • @dragospastic Whe your as good s AC/DC then you can say they ruined Aussie music.

  • I love my country Australia....

  • Aussie classic, oh how it takes me back

  • It seems to me that there could only be a very select, lucky, population of people in this world that could really appreciate this song in all it's complexities.. including the time, geography and memories... to all those people.. spot on...

  • awesome song!

  • Classic song, reminds me of the good old days down under!

  • this sond is good as

  • awesome

  • love this song!

we sang it last nite at bended elbow.

  • This song brings back memories of when I was 14. This song was a classic when it first come out and even 20 years after it's still shows it's timless. It proves that 80's music shits all over what they spew out as mass produced "music" now. Somehow I don't think the music of today will be remembered in 20 years from now like 80s music still is now. Wish I can go back to the 80s.

  • Yeah I wish I could go back to the 80's too. but you know what the difference is? I was born in 1992, so its not going BACK, its just going there. Yeah my generation missed out on all the good stuff. Bloody putting up with "American Boyyyyy..." ARGH!!!

  • Yes, things are definitly different now compared to the 80s. Yes, far enough the computers weren't the best then but the music and other things that were made then are timeless. Even now, I love playing Pacman and Donkey Kong as they're still my favorite games. Back in the 80s, mobile phones were the size of house bricks, and yes, some of the fashions back thyen make me cringe now, but some things still shit over today's stuff. Plus back then, we were a lot tougher than the soft cocks now!

  • Yeap I totally agree man. Some of the things today are great but the things that really make people happy like music and films were awesome back then. =]

  • Yes, the music and movies are timeless, not like the music by numbers and the crap movies these days...with the exception of "Kenny" and the new Batman movies with Christian Bale as Batman. And the only rap I prefer is NWA and The 2 Live Crew as they were real and told how things were like on the streets, not like the try hard wanna be gansters who are really try hards and would have a sook if faced with a street fight.

  • When did this song come out 1989 or so? It's more of an early 90s tune. guns n roses were around then but I would never term them to be an 80s band. Duran Duran and other crap acts like them are the sterotypical 80s bands that ran around before Nirvana (who I like a little but not a lot) saved rock music.

  • 1987 =]

  • 87 it is. Thanks.

  • i looooove this song :)

i wish i was around in the 80's they have such good music :)

  • Wow this video could have been so much better

It doesnt do the lyrics justice

  • good AUSSIE song!@!

  • Simply awesome! =]

  • Great song! Used to hear it on the Loop in Chicago. Can't find the mp3 anywhere.

  • i love this song it was my fav song when i was a kid

  • just coz ur young dnt mean u cnt luv this shiit.. im onli 18 aswell

i fukn luv this song and most old aussie rock songs.. 70s - 90s kick ass :D:D GO FOR GOLD FELLAZ

  • Absolutely fucking 'A' song by a fucking 'A' band!

    LONG LIVE THE CHOIRBOYS ;-)

  • 80s MUSIC AT ITS BEST!!!

  • One of the best anti-drug songs.

  • hi bloke, yes top band, i remember brad, and the manzil room was cool, so was manly and hotlips.what a band!

  • What a great band. The current lineup just doesnt have the energy of the Choirboys of old. Some of us old timers can still remeber Brad Carr and his stuffed animal collection !!

I used to go see these guys before they were famous at the Manel Room in Kings Cross. Never forget a gig at the Horden Pavillion when the whole band rode through the crowd on a Harley onto the stage !!! Them were the days

  • happy australia day everyone!

    how good is this song?

  • 03David07 is the president of 'The Proclaimers' Fan Club. His overdominant parents did not let him listen 'loud' music only Bouzouki's. He did rebel but only went as far as 'The Proclaimers'.

    Sad.

  • Thanks for posting this Sid, you have my ever lasting gratitude...BTW ignore 03david07 he probably liked Hanson

  • aussie pride good band from the best country good song

  • Classic song. This was cool back then and still gets alot of airplay now. the 80's was scary fashion wise but some great songs came out of that era. I don't think people are trying to be cool by listening to it. If they like it, let them listen, why watch this video if you hate it so much? Teenagers are a pain in the arse. grow up.

  • Saw them 2 years ago. Gave a great show...

    Love this Aussie band

  • How do i save this one?

  • i fangin love this song. heard it on countdown spectacular and now wont stop listening to it

  • WHATEVER!!!! This is one of the greatest rock songs of all time even if it by your definition 'bogan'. If this is a bogan song then i am a bogan and DAMN PROUD OF IT.

  • fuckin hell im 18 and sick of boagans walking up my street bit flanies and a vb GET IT THROUGH YOUR HED YOU DONT LISTEN TO 80S MUSIC! want a tip stop wearing your flanies and jeans and stop drinking vb and driving your vn commodore cut that mullet of by some adidas pants and jumper and take some speed then you wont be boagan youl be normal

  • Well Im 18 and sick of total wannabe's walking up and down my street listening to... I DONT KNOW WHAT TO CALL IT BUT ITS NOT FUCKING MUSIC!!!!! YOUR NOT COOL YOUR NEVER GOING TO BE COOL GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK HEAD. Maybe If you lay off the drugs and buy some clothes that actually fit you, you'd be normal and would grow some taste in music, although im not sure someone as closed minded and obviously stupid as you, could ever ever appreciate good aussie music at it's best.

  • but it is 80s trash! the only good things that came out in the 80s are holden vl comodores (turbos) but they are pretty crap too unles you pimp dem out in wog style!

  • Pimp them out wog style? LOL

I guess everyone has different taste in music (and cars :P) and its best just to agree to disagree. But i still think your completely wrong in dismissing 80's music as bogan, it actually has alot more artistic merits then music made this decade, you just need to listen and interpret. It wouldn't be a classic, people wouldn't still remember and LOVE it, if it wasn't a damn good or should i say GREAT song :)

  • David your a real dick, your 18 and you think you know what real music is your a little punk kid just outta nappies, face it man i bet you dont even remember the 90's or 80's for that matter im 24 and i remember these 80's aussie songs as classics in time i was young and all my good memories had these songs playing in the valiant but last but not least grow some balls 1st and when u have been around the block a few times then you can speak up till then "EAT A DICK" kind regards lol! Dans1983

  • One of the best songs of the late 80's!

  • i am going to see this guys ina concert

  • excellent, this got taken off 3 months ago, ive been waiting for someone to post it again, this time i downloaded my own copy, man i love this song

  • Sensational!

You`re a legend Sid. I`ve been hoping someone would post this.

Remember this song when I first got my licence. My mates and I would sing this so loud in the car that we`d lose our voices.

    Great times! Thanks Sid

  • No problem what-so-ever. Glad you liked it.
