I've shucked corn, shelled peas, peeled potatoes, made my own clothes, darned my socks AND made my own preserves. Making preserves was the hardest and most time consuming of all these chores. It takes over three hours just to boil strawberry and peach preserves. Oy!

And, by the way, Alton DOES have some unitaskers in his kitchen, which I know from reading his book "Gear For Your Kitchen"
