  • Good medicine.

  • Great stuff!!!

  • That was great. Thanks

  • The Steel Guitar Rag was one of my Uncle Louie's favorite songs. But when you put a loud speaker on you house at Christmas to play music for the neighbors then come home feelin your oats at 3:00 in the mornin. Well all I can say is the neighbors didn't want to hear the Steel Guitar Rag at 3:00 in the morning and the Police responded. They were nicer back then and asked him to please stop. He did and no jail time was served. He would have loved your Guitar playing Wayne!

  • really liked it a lot. Thaks

  • My goodness, that's good picking!

  • Ahh i remember this one.

    Still amazing!!

    Thanks

    Chris

  • @TheRedneckSwede Thanks, Chris. He's an astounding musician, I agree.

  • Wow, that is some crazy inlay on the fretboard of that flat-top. It's almost as fancy as a Martin D-100.

  • @Hoopermazing Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your leaving a comment. Suze

  • Interesting way to pick a guitar. Kinda like Lester Flatt, only he didn't do leads.

  • @MisterSchlomah Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your comment.

  • whats this song?

  • @odingr There were several songs played, so I'm not certain which one you need the name of. I appreciate your stopping by and leaving a comment. Suze

  • @odingr First tune that he played was Steel Guitar Rag. The others have the title before the tune. Take care.

  • Song 1: The Steel Guitar Rag

Song 2: Turkey in the Straw

  • I'm not american and I play this music

    ( ...I try..! )

  • This type of music is wonderful and your nationality or culture do not matter one bit. Music is of the heart, it knows no national boundaries. Bless you, my friend, for playing beautiful music from any part of the world! Hugs ~ Suze

  • i'm not American, but i feel i don't have to be American to see the beauty in this music, just and simply beautiful

  • Music knows no international boundaries. It is our most beautiful shared language, the language of the heart. Thank you so much for your enjoyment.

  • thanks to you for making this language real!

  • You are welcome. Thank you for watching and listening. Suze

  • Wayne is a true master luthier and picker. I met him at the 2009 Wayne Henderson festival and he is a character. My family migrated to South Carolina, from Old Rag mountain area in 1792. Beats me why they left.

  • I was there for that festival also and just loved the music and everything about the park. I suppose your family, like others, left in search of work, money and a better life. Trouble is, it doesn't much better than the mountains. Peace, love and light to you ~ Suze

  • so dope totally my style check out my response i think youll like it

  • Thanks, man. You're a good musician...just checked out your tunes.

  • Absolutely incredible musicianship! Thanks for this video, Suze.

  • Oh My God!! Suze, you have no idea what you've just done to me! 30 years ago, I used to jam with Wayne, Buddy Pendleton, Olen Gardner, and so many other of the world's BEST Bluegrass musicians. This hits me square between the eyes. THIS is what I miss about leaving the mountains.

    Moosie

  • Well, just come on back to Virginia and jam a little more... :) Wayne is playing locally again over the Labor Day weekend. If you want details, just let me know. They still jam right there on the porch in Grayson County. lol What a small world it is sometimes!! If you'd like some really clear copy of this video, just PM your email address and I'll sent the vid to you. Hugs!!!

You tried this, didn't you?! lol

  • Hey so is this song called bluegrass guitar? or is there another name, my buddy and I are gonna try and play it.

  • Hey, thanks so much for stopping in! "Steel Guitar Rag" or "Guitar Rag" is the name of the first song in the video. Please let me know if you and your friend upload it... would love to hear your version!

  • Hi Suze, I think Wayne Henderson and his wife are the Valedictorians of Bluegrass and any other music they might want to play. 5 stars ***** --:)Rod

  • Hi Rod...how are you this morning? :) It's such a treat to hear what you really amazing pickers have had to say about the music in this video. I like your description a lot... "the Valedictorians of Bluegrass" ... :) 5 star comment! HUGS! Suze

  • that's guitar youpee!!! fantastic fiddle too;

thanks so much Suze to show us.

    HOBOSEAN (Jean)

  • Hi there, Jean! So glad you enjoyed the guitar and the fiddle. Helen White also has one of the most beautiful voices in the mountains... It's said that the songbirds stop and listen when she sings... :)

  • Enjoyed "Turkey in the Straw", I haven't heard that one in a long time. Being from Western Mass I also enjoyed the referance to the Boston Red Sox in "Take me out to the Ballgame" Definitely a Favorite. Cheers! Robert RAW

  • Hi Robert... so glad you enjoyed the video! Boston has a great team!! I'll have to tell a sad tale here... :) At the same time I was putting the Henderson video together, I was also talking with a friend on the telephone about the White Sox situation... and accidentally typed White Sox onto this video instead of Red Sox. Had it not been for Danny Knapp calling it to my attention, I might not have caught the error and pulled that first video... Talk about embarrassing yourself... lol :)

  • I've always had a lot of respect for musicians that make their own instruments. A lot of love goes into making the music, playing it and sharing it.

  • That's such an astute observation... I agree with you completely. Thanks for coming by and enjoying Mr. Henderson's music and his beautiful guitars.

  • This Cat's wailin'! Mighty fine... 8-)
