wow, people who think these thing are "cute" are just overlooking these tardigade's abilities completely... these things are able to survive temperatures close to absolute zero, boiling temperatures, these things are able to survive in space, and intense radiation! cute my ass, look at the abilities of these tardigates...
It's possible their DNA has already been spliced into something that somehow made its way into the human body as well... looks and sounds like it could be a part of what's behind Morgellons Disease to me. I would know, I've been suffering with it for 6 years now.
you have a gift for understatement my friend, being able to withstand 65,000 Gamma Rays, burnt with a blowtorch, frozen in liquid nitrogen, living without water for 10 years, simulating death, and being able to survive in freakin SPACE! Hardcore can't possibly describe something like a Tardigrade!
This is like listening to early Yes, minus Jon Anderson as vocalist, while sitting in bio class. Hmmm...I feel like I'm in highschool again. Really. Yes. Maybe pre-Roundabout.
This is perhaps destined to become a youtube classic?
My theory is that an inevitable gamma ray burst will wipe out all life (Completely even bacteria) and only waterbears will remain. (Due to their preternatural resistance to radiation)
From that point onwards all life will be waterbear based. i.e. all life from that point onwards will evolve from the original waterbear common ancestor.
lol, john was watching a thing on the discovery channel about the water bear, which is a microscopic organism, that lives in water and is completely invincible to anything and everything.
Accidentally boil them? they'll be just fine.. put them in the freezer? They'll be OK... You could blow them out of an air lock on the space shuttle and they'll be OK.
"Not the red hot or the ice cold can destroy the water bear!!"
