I'm from Germany, and just reading the book 'Please Kill Me'.I didn't know that THIS MAN had such an influence on the pra-punk Movement, like Iggy and the Stooges or the New York Dolls. I still love this kind of music. Also, of course, Richard Hell, Television or the Ramones.
In my opinion, the first Ramones LP and the 'Raw Power'-LP are some fucking important to what we call today Punkrock.
I went to a hardcore show, some hours ago... and also there you can find the influence of this music.
@MicRidget I just read that book too and that's what made me look this video up. This guy is practically a hero of rock and roll and I had hardly heard anything about him until just recently.
truthfully I have to watch the vid again because it has been 10 months since I posted that remark. I wish Danny would write a tell all book; athgh he's probably too classy to do that, but he knew everyone and was part of a very cool scene.
The subject matter is indecipherable, truly. Something to do with pop stars, singers, etc. The young guy is way out of Danny's league, clearly, but Danny tolerates him for his beauty, and they proceed to discuss nothing at great, un-witty, unedifying length. Wow! Such is America!
great interviews with cult celebs. curt upton is a rare talent. i have been following his stand-up career in NYC for a while and was so pleased to see icurt on youtube.
Interestingly enough, I met that Flock of Seagulls guy in a bar on East Seventh Street. Danny rocks.

Funny that Mr. Fields' titled his photos of hustlers "Richies".
Not sure what he means by that term but that's what we call white trash homeboys here in Jersey City.
Or, actually the terms "bompy" is more common.
