"Have I been telling lies to myself" is really "I HAVE been telling lies to myself", although I can understand why you'd get that wrong because Jon breathes in before the line, making it sound like "have"

Most importantly, the final line is not "Where do I put the love", but "Where do I put the lies?" I think that makes some difference.

Not quite...I'm looking at the CD notes right now, and you were right that "there's so many I could read"...but wrong on the others...they are "have I been telling lies to myself ?", and "where do I put the love ?"

What's awful about this video is that the lyrics are wrong in several places. I know this, and it's been years since I've read the cd booklet. I mean, shit.

"Could" is substituted with "can", for some reason, e.g. "there's so many I CAN read."
