Excuse me? Aibo is an artificial intelligence robot. It can recognize your face and voice. It can recognize sounds and its surroundings. It can take pictures. It can even write blogs and send photos directly to your phone. It can write diaries, tell you what time of day it is, get on its charger by itself, do tricks, develop its own unique personality, and interact with other Aibos. It has a color camera built in to it. It can walk around and amuse itself all day. It can even TALK!

It's funny how people buy robotic dogs to substitute real living animals. It just goes to show you who's a lazy ass or not. Too lazy to get a real one so you get one, use it for a month or a few weeks then store it in your closet to forget about it.

Not true. Some people buy robots simply because they love them. I've been buying robots throughout my childhood- at the same time, pestering my parents to let me have a real dog. Now I have a little labrador, but I'd still absolutely love to have an AIBO. I'd imagine my dog would get along great with one. ;)

Aibos need a lot of light to operate well. As long as your room is well lit, preferably with sunlight then you'll have no problems.

Why do they need so much light?

The video camera they have as their eye is low resolution and doesn't cope well in low light. The recognition software isn't able to distinguish objects without good lighting. You will need good overhead lighting to get the most from an Aibo. Remember that as advanced as they are, they're still running on 6+ year old technology! Cameras that old just wern't all that great. :(

I had one when the ers7 first came out, and sorry they suck. i sold it some time later when it had been in the basment for 1 month. It was really bugged, could not find the charger and so on. Recomend peoples to wait to a newer version comes out. ( My appartment is pretty dark)

ERS-7s resell for about $3,000-5,000 USD. They do not make them anymore, and you will have to get one from someone who is selling them.
