  • i had one asshole pull out in front of me WHILE MAKING EYE CONTACT... what the fuck people? anyways i actually had to downshift to slow down enough and go up in somebodies driveway and go on the sidewalk. i felt kinda like a badass for executing thatXD

  • this would be good, but theres a problem,90 % of the bikers don't go on the streets whit the speed similar to one in the video, look for bikers, but bikers should look at the speedmeter more often!

  • @muiedarku wrong, I was doing 20mph @ 30mph speed limit and a cager still didn't notice me, pulled out, destroyed my bike and sent me to hospital. Yeah, many bikers tend to go bit faster than they probably should (as if car drivers didn't do it...) but if a cager can't be bothered to look it dosen't matter how fast bike goes unfortunatelly

  • @thaurgurth

Most bikers dont even go too fast, its the cardriver who THINKS they go too fast..

  • Comment removed

  • @muiedarku

What? Are you implying the biker was speeding? He was obviously not!

  • After riding a moped for around 1 1/2 years and now riding a 125, I can easily say how much road awareness I have gained and how my timing and other skills have improved from this. I can tell that a car doesn't see me when they change lans or pull out at least a few times a week.

  • Fuck I almost pissed my pants!

  • @hofmarskal Me too!

  • This ad is very true. So many cars pull out of intersections infront of bikes even though they appear to have seen you. If drivers were half as aware and alert as MOST riders accidents like this would be dramatically reduced. This is why riders have to learn to check every intersection as they approch and always be prepared to take avoiding action.

  • Like. This should be advertised more in cities with a high population of motorcycle riders.

  • this would never happen in mother russia

  • @FightTheSystem1492 /watch?v=glJKlZhyvh8 pu that next to your youtube.com

  • Here in mexico, the most part of the motorcycle accidents happen because of the car drivers take no respect with motorcycle drivers

  • How about they do another version of this add , At the end instead of the biker on the road, you see the bike itself through the car door and the car driver dead . People never think that 200 kg of motorcycle will hurt them if it comes through the side window ! .

  • @davemr1966 It's hard to make the guilty party look guilty if they're dead...

  • biker would be a retard to crash like that

  • I like that guys voice

  • Window struts block a huge amount of the view at a typical junction and can competely mask a motorcycle for several seconds, that's why it's important to look several times being aware of what can't be seen in that field of view.

  • think think think think think think think think think

  • I have much more to point at bikers than car drivers.

like bikers nearly hiting cars (yes them hitting cars) overtaking inbetween cars, or passing in between lanes on queues to avoid trafic, as they scratch cars because the "stupid car driver" didnt look at his mirrors.

Bikers follow the rules and we might start to respect you a little bit more.

  • @x4dow passing in betweenlanes? it's called filtering you idiot and EVERY biker does it you fucking blind car drivers dont see shit and in the UK it's leagal

and mate dont class all us bikers like that

because you are the typical car driver a thick cunt that only thinks of himself so get your facts right before you start giving shit

  • God damn that scared the hell outta me.

  • i was always taught you are supposed to look twice anyways...

  • DEAD

  • When the avrage person approachs an intersection such as a T intersection they look left and right scanning for traffic. whilst looking along the road their eyes are not focussed for the area close to the intersection. Result a large vehicle can be in this unfocussed area. Solution scan the intersection twice once for distance and once for close traffic.

  • How is it the motorcyclist fault u idiot?? He's going straightaway!

  • this advert is stupid lets all just agree it was hands down the motorcyclists fault

  • @ovsdud Lets all agree thumbs down that your a idiot.

  • let's just not blame car drivers..neither bikers watch out for them..in the city they move like they are not vehicles so they force car drivers to think that way too..both sides should learn some stuff....

  • @georgerelax No blame the car drivers. I have had multiple close calls from people pulling out in front of me or attempting to change lanes with me in the way. Few times I had the chance to speak with them and they gave me this deer in the headlights look and mumbled something about not seein me.

  • Too many bikers in the UK think they own the road. For instance they believe they have a God given right to pass a line of stationary cars at a junction then push in front of the que when its convenient. Accepted many car drivers don't pay enough attention, but if you want to give this advert a bit more street cred, also have a go at some of the maniacs on 2 wheels who believe they are immortal.

  • @ALBIONTYKE theres pros and cons to motorcycling...... rainy cold weather...con...not having to sit in traffic..pro...i bet your 1 o those deusche bags who move there car to the middle of the road to make it hard for bikes to get past.

  • @wall263 I your one one those Easy Rider wanna be's trying to sound American. Deusch bag ? It's "douche bag" you godam dumb dude.

  • @ALBIONTYKE well done you can spell douche bag...when r u gonna learn to string a sentence together ...fuckin idiot

  • @ALBIONTYKE True there are dumbasses on 2 wheels as well as 4 however I personally have never had any problems with motorcyclists driving dangerously. Car drivers are a different matter entirely.

  • That first crash looked like he was doing a ton ! I drive the lot -trucks buses cranes I also own 5 motorbikes and I even cycle now and then ! We all need to observe more and no sodding mobiles at the wheel ! I'm a motorbike fanatic even though as a lad they showed worse Think Bike ads with Jimmy Chin and Ed Jupp.....

  • The biker was travelling much faster in the first clip when he crashed. Bikers should be extra vigilent when driving by bad junctions as it is not always possible to see them coming at high speed. If they are travelling at a sensible speed (between 20&30mph) it will be very easy to stop in time. I drive both bikes and cars. Always ride with headlight on too, this helps a lot.

  • Motorcyclists think they own the road

  • @ovsdud cars think they own the road just as often. there are just as many motorcyclists that are scared shitless of everyone as a potential death sentence that simply want to make it to work as there are reckless individuals. these "innocent" bikers get hit just as as the crazy ones for very similar reasons.

  • why don't they have this in USA? damn.

  • got an accident like that 3 years ago,but i thank god everyday that i only got my hands & legs broken & not my spine..

  • @JordanianPride80 did you get back on a bike???

  • @MetalPlatedHand ..yes this year i bought a hayabusa ...my last bike ended like a razor after the crash..:)

  • good video but it would be nice when some drivers just look 1 time for bikes

the most car drives didnt even look 1 time for riders thats the bad thing

  • the biker looked as though he was doing around 50mph, in a 30mph zone!

  • THINK BIKE? FORGET BIKE! OH well...

  • the point of the vid is for fucking motorcyclists to not own the road

  • fuck you you twat i got hit by a car head on on my bike not my fault at all all because the driver couldnt be fucked to look i was doing speed limit and all its not bikers who think they do you get half and half car drivers and bikers who are twats not just one type

  • btw it wasnt my fault i got hit by a car on a motorbike head on car was on wrong side of road so no CAR DRIVERS FAULT THINKING THEY OWNED THE ROAD

  • point when im riding my bike i see bikers over take me at stupid speeds overtaking and stuff but mate we all arnt like that most of us respect riding and dont want to give bikers abad name

  • Hey I am 19 and it happend to me approximately two month ago. I think I was at maybe 70 km/h when I saw a Golf 6 in the middle of the road. The impact was that heavy that I pushed the car into another. Fortunatly I hit the engine mount and flew over the car. About 40 meters farther I hit the ground. I spent only 3 weeks in hospital and I hope that my right knee will be OK soon.

    So long =)

  • This happened to me when I was 19. I was right on the speed limit and a car pulled out from under the arches at 7 sister's railway station in London. I saw the car, everything goes in slowmotion. I though, blue Audi and then in less than half a second I was in the air. I could hear my bike crunching while I was still in the air. Anyway, geezer fled, bystanders chased him and held him for the Police. I spent 3 months in hospital and still have problem with my right leg 20 years later.

  • THINK! dont drive a Rover

  • who ever's fault it was the point of the vid is for car drivers to look MORE for bikers.

  • agreed

  • because one driver i will crash in him with my scooter... they dont see :@

  • To tobrianl:

The USA will NEVER show these videos mainly because I'm sure someone would get offended, find some scumbag lawyer and sue the shit out of the ad council. This country is becoming more lame as time goes on....I'm sry...

  • @SammyM00782 they wouldnt have a case in england, the amount of lives taken by speeders and just not looking or not wearing a seatbelt has fallen dramaticaly after the release of ads such as these, any judge and jury could see the benifits and most likely, the suer would just be known as calous for trying to get money from a good cause

  • @SammyM00782

Actually, the Idaho public safety department made a similar ad, and the Minnesota DPS borrowed it and is running it now.

  • @SpiffEatWorld i was about to type the same thing

  • @SammyM00782 actually I have seen this p.s.a. on TV a few times now. Well it was very very very similar, it was like a remake shot for shot. I am in the USA :)

  • @SammyM00782 the same happens here in Brazil.

  • thats a top video, iv NEVER seen any ads on TV EVER in aus (IV never seen) regarding car to bike/ bike to car awarness in australia. a 30 second vid dose so much but they rather show RUGS 'A MILLION CARPET SALE! CLOSING DOWN!! 80 TO 90% YES! 90& OFF RUGS RUGS RUUUUGGGGSSSS! . this kinda shit prime time ads. what a world..

  • best bet would be to ride as you are invisible

  • This is a great video. I wish they would play those in the USA and also here in Japan, where an idiot recently hit me from the side.

Hope you get well soon Guto. I myself finally got off my crutches last week and I'm back on my bike. :O)

Bikers should think that everyone is out to kill them. It's safer that way.

  • it happened to me 2 months ago, i broke my arm and my shoulder was deslocated. i'm just getting better now

  • This happened to me about a month ago, i saw the car, then i saw the car pull out, i was moving at 20 mph, and i still hit the car and did a front flip. so its not the bikers fault he werent seen.

  • This does happen. But this vid sucks!! He was already sitting in the middle of street before he even moved!!

  • CardoWireless also posted another cool ad. Better than this one IMHO

  • Check out my vid for more safety (it's an ad too but I don't work for those who made the vid) Cheers !

  • Furthermore analysis of the footage is stupid, it is an advert it never actually happened, it might be poorly executed but that's it. BUT it does happen and it is avoidable in most cases through the actions of the car driver hence the advert.

  • The comments on this video are ridiculous. This happens because car drivers look for cars not bikes which are much easier to see at a distance so when they pull out they get away with not looking again. With a bike which is smaller they may not see it at the first look, by the time they pull out it is right on them. The bike rider should be careful because this happens so often but even obeying the speed limit this can happen. It happened to me on a push bike!

  • get on a bike and try it. they may look small but its hard to stop a metal machine

  • you cant turn and 'slam on the brakes' on a bike, its one or the other!

  • That still doesn't matter...the biker had the right of passage

  • that was the bikers fault though.

he saw the car and the man in the car looked right and left.

  • Tbh most Bikers don't even pay attension to the road and arn't cautious. Alot of Bikers I know just act like it's the cars fault when being in a car it is very hard to see bikers sometimes so the Biker is responsible for preventing it from happening too.

Everytime I come up to a junction I always get ready, just in case and many times has a car pulled out and because I've payed attension I prevented it.

  • How does a biker travel down a road then? Stop in the middle of the road at every junction? Are you serious? Bikers who dont pay attention crash... I bet you the whole "internet" that

    1. Your full of crap

    2. Biker do pay attention.

    good game brucie!

  • 'most Bikers don't even pay attension to the road and arn't cautious'

Bikers are some of the most aware drivers on the road, know the facts before you open your trap!

  • @MrB1obby SOME bikers, because MOST are still alive and knowing what to do. motorcycles are barely the risks, its the people that can't drive, especially with their bigass SUV's and cars. OH and i'll add the stupidass soccer moms that can't control their vans.

  • who told you that? The car driver was the key or responsible vehicle in 61% of collisions with a motorcycle!!! idiot.

  • Before you call someone an idiot, exercise what remains of your primative brain and read, (assuming you are not a biker), in which case you wont have a brain. How can "the car driver" be responsible for the 50%+ of bike accidents that DONT INVOLVE ANOTHER VEHICLE.

  • You don't understand, don't you? I will repeat it for you and I will just add some details in order for your primitive brain to understand: in 61% of the accidents including a car and a motorcicle, the car driver is responsible. Idiot, again.

  • Clearly you are too thick to understand. Nevermind. Hopefully you'll become another statistic soon anyway.

  • This made me jump in my seat!!

  • i shit myself

  • Your all missing the point, if a car was speeding and another pulled out it would still be 100% the fault of the driver pulling out for not paying enough attention otherwise all junctions would have stop signs on them.

  • look i think even if a biker is speading he still would not crash if it wernt for the driver of the other vheicle

  • as a biker and a car driver i never understand why motorists dont take more care at times. especialy in the summer. i had a suv pull out on me last summer from a slip road, neary had me off.

when i pointed 4 him to pull over to talk about it he shook his head and pulled away. grrrrrrr

  • i've never not seen a bike on the road. i dont understand this phenomenon. how the fuck do you not see a biker. i know that they say people are programmed to look for cars not bikes but I think thats bullshit. people are just fucking careless and in general bad fucking drivers.

  • too right ! i treat all car drivers as morons until they prove otherwise!.

last one who did this to me , i punched his mirror off !

  • gawd that scared me first time i saw it lol

  • @xjboy550 haha good job ;D

  • @xjboy550

Damn right mate, tosser pulled out on me the other day I beeped at him and then it slammed on his brakes and started shouting at me. I then put the bike on the stand walked upto him and pointed at I have the do an emergency maneuver to avoid him - his reply, "you must have been speeding mate" to which I pointed to the cop card behind me, at which point he got all "shit sorry mate blah blah" the copper nicked him for dangerous driving... turns out the copper was a biker too......

  • they only see two feet in front of their faces.and the assholes that pull over the double yellow in the carpool lanes.

  • i ride a bike to work every day ,or i did until a week ago where a woman turned across me leaving me nowhere to go apart from over the top of her car ,this happens quite regular ,there are so many drivers that just don't look ,i am lucky it was a low speed crash but ,i have been signed off work and my bike is wrote off, the driving test needs to be re-took every 10 years and if failed they loose there licence

  • wow dude. she left turned if front of you. that is a popular accident in the us. I've had people look right at me and turn in front of me. thing that pisses me off is that one day i'm going to get arrested for beating the shit out of one these people. no joke.

  • well she right turned across me as we're in the uk we're on the other side of the road ,but yes she didn't see me until i was on her windscreen

  • and another fault is that the biker in the first clip is riding faster than in the last one this advert is bollocks and full of faults

  • i dont know if anyone noticed but during the first clip the car is clearly sticking out more onto the road, even if he did look again the bike still would have crashed into him

  • the US should have a commercial like that

  • thank u mark finaly sum1 dont get angry at me 4 no reason

  • this ad is very realistic that exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago riding along a main road when a car pulled out right in front of me end result was bike written of aand scrapped 4k's worth and the car lost a £10 head light lense and had a small dent in the door which could be beaten out for next to nothing. where is the justice????

  • what an idiot go play with your blow up doll

  • weelie home go suck old grannys bum chocolate

  • Why exactly?

  • Actually, it was both faults, but more of the driver of the car for not looking, here we have a road, the motorcyle has right of way to drive, however, he was speeding, the driver, position his car, not taking longer time to look to make sure it's clear to pull out, as a result for not taking more time to look, he ended up having an accident and this is like children walking out onto the road not taking more time to look both ways and fault ends with the children ending up dead.

  • How exactly can you tell the bike is speeding? "because he looks like he is" isn't an answer.

  • Look at it carefully, slow the video down to the reaction of the driver and how quick the motorcyclist headed towards the car, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the motorcycist was going roughly 40mph and along with the driver who failed to look again, the speed limit is 30mph, then again, he could of been in a area where the speed limit is 40mph.

  • there was roughly 3 basic clips, 1 shows him smashing into the car, the impact of that, was enough to say he was speeding at roughly 40mph, the 2nd one confirmed it, the 3rd one where they showed what the driver should of done, the motorcyclist was going roughly 30mph.

  • In the first clip, the drivers head obscures half the road, you can't tell how fast he is going. Nothing in the accident itself indicated he was speeding, if he was, he would have more likely have ended up on the other side of the car. In the third clip, he looks like he is going slower because the camera is panning with him (look up relative motion).

  • Using a bit of maths, with the second clip, it takes the bike roughly 1-1.5s (about :18 to somewhere between :19 and :20) to get from where the intersection starts, to hit the car. Now as an estimate of distance, thats about 10m (generous estimate). So we can deduce from that his average speed over that distance is at worst, 10m/s (36km/h or 22.5~mph). 22.5mph is significantly less than your suggested 30mph speed limit. Same method on the last clips suggests the same speed.

  • that's not an impact at 36 km/h... the biker should've been blind, not being able to avoid the crash at that speed...

  • aybody know who actually made this ad? and all the thinnk! adverts? as in the company. i know the department for transport is in charge of it all, but i need the advertising company name.

  • Very nice.. and true.. Most bikes are quite quiet and fast.. good commercial

  • i went to a safe driving ting wid my college the uder day and we spoke to some victims of crashes, people who had lost family members, police, ambulance, who had all seen people die cou of drink driving but the ting dat really got me was 1 of the vids dat they showed. i was jw if anyone had seen it on youtube. its about some boy playing football with his dad in a garden some guy been drinking starts driving, crashes, flys over the fence nd crushes the boy dnt sound like much but still hard to watch:)

  • COOL:)

  • clever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • but im not saying its only bike riders that pull out senselessly. my dad had 2 sell his bike coz of idiots like the driver in the ad

  • erm, this advert is weird. its english, and in england, its MOTORCYCLISTS that pull out on cars, as well as normal bicycles. that might not be the case in america, but over here, it happens at least 30 times every day.

  • yeh on GTA maybe. What do you ride? A bus

  • English advertising OWNS, Think is a really effective series of adverts. Really make you THINK thanks to how dramatic they are...

  • The Americanized version of this is almost exactly the same. But not as good.

  • "" look,look,then look AGAIN ""

Remember:""take longer to look for bikes""

    I will remember those...

  • well if you do. you will be one of the few car drivers that bother,

  • Personally, I think these videos should be shown as part of the UK driving test. I'm a young driver, but I'm also a cyclist. Not quite the same as a motorbike, but we share the problems of cars... I think I'm quite aware, but these adverts are wonderful. I think it's the shock value...

  • LOOK

  • Here in the USA, car drivers fully see the motorcyclist, but, they pull out anyway. The is the land of the extremely selfish and uncaring. I gave up my bike for this reason. Now, I'm back driving a boring cage.

  • it happens alot. when i ride i usually anticipate a car pulling out.

  • Phantastic video! The sudden impact of the bike took even my by surprise. Hopefully it makes some people a bit more aware of how important it is to check BOTH sides carefully, before heading out of a side road!

  • excellent video

  • Does highlight the fact that most car drivers don't take into account bikes, they just look for other cars, A lot of times they don't appreciate the speed at which a bike can be coming at, or that it can take the bike longer to break, and on fresh asphalt it gets really slippy for bikes.

  • british adverts are the best

  • i dont get how they make these uk think commercials so real...are they???

  • if i was on the bike i would of jumped up or jumped through the window head first XD

  • your not a bike rider then. you'd be too busy trying to stop

  • Also that fine line of hold out an try to salvage and maybe DIE or ditch and trash a bike that may have been able to avoid it.

  • i seen the american virson of this when i was on holiday

  • Oh!we have this comr in the US too.But this is way better. Its pretty much exactly the same except the environment.

  • you always have to be super defensive when riding. constantly trying to anticipate what all the stupid cunts around you will do. i remember back in drivers ed they drilled into your head about tractor trailer blind spots but never mentioned how easily you can take the life of a motorcyclist with a moment of carelessness.

  • 0:15 "oh, don't want to get these new pants dirty"

seriously, people need to pay big fines for stupidity on the road. is your cell phone call really worth someones life?

  • This is typical british way of joining a traffic (with the priority). They stop on the middle of the road and wait until someone stops and let them go. I think it is very rude and dangerous as you one can see.

  • you didnt quite get the commercial.

the car driver seemingly acted responsibly, driving really slow and checking both sides careful.

obviously this is not enough, but this is nowhere a purely british problem.

  • I had this very thing happen to me.. the driver looked right at me, and pulled out straight in front of me. And it was 'oh sorry, I didn't see you'. I think that was obvious. People need to turn their brains, and eyes on when they drive any vehicle.

  • It's a very nice video,i have the same problem here in romania. Here some drivers do it on purpose to see your reaction and when u beat the shit out of him, every body sais bikers and crazy and bad.

  • Look, yes! Thats true!

  • This is a DAMN good commercial... I wish theyd play this shit in the states. we need some good commercials like this.

  • yeah only they would be implying that it was the fault of the motorcyclist

  • Or probably Some middle-eastern country. Unites States of Morons. Obama for Prez.

  • when you rewind, there wasn't a motorcycle the first time. idk, maybe it was behind his head

  • Yeah watch out for me suckas

  • Holy crap! I jumped like hell.

I thought it was going to be that advert with the "Now you see him" thing with the motorcycle. Does anyone know what advert I'm on about?

  • yeah I remember that one. The only time the driver noticed the motorcyclist was when he got creamed.

  • Yeah. These adverts well used to freak me out when I was younger.

  • a dude on a hyabusa got decapped cause a truck pulled out in from. He tried to duck it under but didnt have enough time.

So theres a have painted wallmart truck, a dead biker, becuase noone looks

  • Jesus Christ... I jumped like shit then!

  • yea you ass holes LOOK!!!!!!!!!!

  • it has actually happened to me alot... I tend to keep an eye on cars emergin from junctions from now on and move to the centre of the road when i can
