The key being the fact that Stalin knew that there was a confirmed no threat of a Japaneses attack based on info supplied by a Soviet spy in Tokyo.

Im studying world war 2 since 15 years. I have fread a lot on werhmacht, i know the efficiency of whermacht and the waffen ss, but this video shocked me, when you read you can imagine how they performed, but wow, its really impressive to see it on this angle.just forget the politics and the nazis things, their is no place in it, to be a nazi you have to be member of nsdap. what i see here is people who fought for country, like all other nations.

Look at the footage and photographs of captured German soldiers bawling like babies. These were seasoned veterans. Imagine what a net-nazi would do in that situation (probably offer to perform fellatio on the Soviet guards for special favors).

He passed away, he is a hero, but he would be the FIRST to say that "those boys in the Luftwaffe were brave, honorable men following orders in a screwed up situation . They either followed orders, or they were shot . Their families too. They just wanted to be good countrymen. @ash2ashindust though i have a lot respect for american bomber pilots who dare to fight over germany at day light and tried to make surgical bombing, they did it against the english experiences, they continu to develop their technics and find a way to make it works, even when they had big losses, like losing 80 bombers on a strike of 700 bombers, in their first sorties over germany, Shweifurt for example. Also i consider the B-17 as a superb plane, for me its the emblem of america during ww2.

At one point of war in the 1943 88's where destroying more tanks in a single day than the Soviets could produce in 1 month.
