ummm.......im in highschool guard in louisiana and that was hard to watch. i mean they only released one toss and it wasnt even high i think i could do their routine with no trouble
I really like your outfits too, our oufits make us look like cavewomen. I like the way you did a split at the end, and incorporated dance into it. Keep it up. :D
I have been involved with colorguard for over 20 years, starting in Junior High, and continuing in all the way through a collegiate guard (NMU), and now coach a High School team. Althought there were no "death defying" tricks with this flag routine, it was very nicely executed. the precision and timing with the silks made a great visual. Nice work, and thanks for sharing!
a poorly rained high school guard could spin circles around LSU Guard. simple moves with out expression. no floor movement. i got bored at about 30 seconds in.
LSU's performances are so plain, they do nothing hard with their actual flag work! They do things that a semi-well trained high school guard can do. It is really sad that that kind of work is allowed with one of the best bands in the US if not The Best!
I went to the LSU leadership and auxiliary camp this year. I actually got back today. They did really well, and even if a lot of the stuff looks easy they work really hard to make it look easy. They all taught me a lot on how to make things look natural and easy.
I dislike angle guards also, if you want to stick with colorguard and get some pretty good challenges and some pretty cool tosses you should look in to Northwestern State in Natchitoches, we have a really good program growing every year, especially the winterguard, keep an eye out for our new show to be posted soon hopefully.
That's awesome! That actually is supposed to be a full split. The music was pretty fast though, so we didn't have to hold it. But the guard does do full splits. Just stretch, it just takes time...

although it was very clean, it just looks too stiff to me. No real movement or difficult flag work.

-_- if only they were more complex I would join their guard. but we do more complex stuff in my guard and im a sophomore in high school.

I'm not getting why it's called "colorguard", colorguard marches with the band. It looks more like winter guard to me.

nope its still colorguard. winterguard is the season more than the name of the group

@TKDNavajo1
I think you need to do your research. There have been several color guards from louisiana that have been very successful at WGI.

ACK so traditional. Yall should follow U. Alabama's lead and get into the now. This is cadet flag work.

That's a jazz split at the end, right?
I really want to try out for LSU's guard after I graduate, but I can't do a split!
lol
