@Titusatreides I didn't like the stillsuits, they didn't fit the description in the book, not keen on the look of the Bene Gesserit either. But there was good casting i'll admit that.

@ShadowTwain umm, I'm pretty sure that the Devastator pwns all infantry and most tanks in two clean hits, and even if it didn't it obliterate your jacked mongoose/ laser tank/ minotaur it could self-destruct before you hijack it. Also, I doubt sniping would work, bullet-proof windows are a must for Harkonnen and Ordos tanks. (I've only played the Emperor version, so I'm a bit biased, but that's the game that was out in my generation.)

@ShadowTwain dude if there was an fps of this, with as many men an average user gets killed and the likelihood of one random seige tank, id say its halo with human guts and blood and no flood. AND sand so much sand

I love the design of the Emperor's palace, I wish I lived in a giant golden pyramid with a sky deck on top...

i mostly like atreides because of the air strikes and there super tank (sonic tank) and the free men but the other 2 are good also

Me too! I loved using Deviators to steal enemies Devastators and self-destruct them right in the middle of their own troops! I also like the Atreides, the ornitopheters were quite powerfull.

Emperor: Battle for Dune is the next game in the series... it is a direct continuation of the campaign in Dune 2000...

i can say surely! mission 8 with ordos is the fucking hardest mission ever and mission 4 with atreides is the easiest (i do not count all 1st missions its just a training)

I still think Dune 2000 might actually be a better game than Emperor. It's a more challenging game!

you didn't beat it? Man I think you played Ordos on Hard difficulty? I found only this campaign to be a little harder. Perhaps i'm just a good strategist:) but the missions with Atreides and Harkonnen were pretty easy even on Hard difficulty. With the Death Hand, the Harkonnens are pretty unmatched, and with atreides you have two bases ...what more you should want? Not to mention that you're not fighting Ordos in the last missions if I remember correctly:)

I also beat all houses on hard. And you don´t need to be a spectacular strategist at all. The AI is very predictable and just sends massive waves of units that don´t fight together. The waves are more or less timed and you will soon find a patern to them. You just need to control the flow while you send attack parties to kill off their bases one by one, that is all. Still I agree that it is a more fun and challenging game than Emperor.

@smithdanger I did beat it on all 3 eventually. The first time I won on atreidies it took 12 hours of play time I have to keep saving and coming back to. There are few strategy games with this much depth and challenge even today :D You really are making me want to go back this weekend and do a marathon lol!
