Obamacare as you say is common sense. Everyone should have insurance, and if you don't have insurance and you get sick the tax payers pay a lot more for a larger hospital bill you cant afford. Every countries currency is worth less, and most of this debt that hurt the dollar came from last president.

@Oldenmagroin this is where understanding math helps. as a total, you are correct, the wealthiest pay a larger percentage than others. that's as total though, without factoring in that proportionally they make more, that therefore taxes paid represents a smaller percentage of their income, and that the total remaining is still astronomically high by comparison to anyone else. if you're familiar with the distinction between progressive and regressive taxation, it'd help make this clearer for you.
