  • I'd wear those pants....but never in public.

  • people don't give Frankie Sullivan enough credit. he'ss an awesome guitarist and should have done way more solos like that one

  • Orinal lead singer of Survivor...DAVE BICLER..\m/...

  • That voice of the leader singer is brilliant. Its so high building up the pressure that good hard rock does. Perfect band.

  • This is my favourite off the album I guess I played Eye of the Tiger to death.

  • BICKLER!!!

  • Right around 3:27 Dave Bickler really struts his stuff.... I always wonder what happened with this band.... Bickler's voice gave them that All-American rock and roll sound that could go head to head with the best that the metal bands could offer. EOTT was heavy and sweetly melodic at the same time, but Bickler could obviously get a little rough too when he needed it....

  • this is the BEST SURVIVOR TUNE, period

I will never forget how it shocked me back in the day... and it still does!

  • SURVIVOR IS THE BEST BAND EVER! ROCKY 4 is the best movie ever! I AM A CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT!!! Alison Brie

  • Sweet 3-part harmony!

  • This is how its done. Survivor firing on all cylinders

  • @315elmwood That's right!! Love Survivor!!

  • I'm kinda new to them and I find them really good

I like the sound of their bass-guitar...the whole band is great !

  • Bickler is the best

  • Bickler was/is da man!

  • bickler actually stepped aside because of vocal problems and helped the band find jimi to replace him. they are both awesome. there are qualities to each of their voices that I really like. I don't prefer either. I just like to listen to them. I think maybe the earlier stuff has a little more edge to it, not quite as refined. but, so what.

  • @btruckno1

couldnt have put it better myself...nicely said dude

  • @btruckno1 I first heard survivor on the radio in 78' I believe. Great band. Do you know if bickler and jimi ever sang or dueted on any survivors songs? i think that would be great to listen to . Thanks, RH

  • @btruckno1

When did they start telling people that?

Originally they said he left because he wanted a solo career. Rather than him leaving - he should have sought out vocal instruction. Any good vocal instructor could have had him up and going in no time with a daily routine if he was having a vocal malady.

  • 80's will never be forgotten!!!

  • first time posting...love this song and still have the record

  • love this song!!! still have the vinyl!

  • the vocals is not jimi jamison?? they have the same voice!!

    rock on survivor!

  • Can't stop watching/listening to this video!! Thanks!!

  • There will never be another 80's!!

  • fuaa que temsooo

  • I'm amazed at the crap in this day and age that passes for music...there will never be an 80s/early 90s again...everything now is so depressing!

  • hug!!1

    yeah!!

  • This song should've been included on "Ultimate Survivor" along w/all the greats. What were Jim & Frankie thinking? This song kicks ass.

  • REAL ROCK & ROLL, NOT THE BULL$HIT YOU HEAR TODAY.

  • dave ruled! survivor simply tremendous!

  • Perhaps Survivor's heaviest song? Survivor rules!

  • THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER 80S!!

  • Love it

  • never got to see this back in the day, thanks for posting this, this song rocks!!

  • dave bickler.new album is coming out thisfall...HE says on myspace

  • Rock on! im luvin this song <3

  • Dave Bickler is now doing the "Real Men of Genius" commercials...They are all f'n funny One of the best rock voices ever

  • THANKS FOR BRINGING THE 80S BACK........I LOVE SURVIVOR!!!!!

  • Wow.......I love Survivor.......miss the 80s....thanks for sharing!!

  • another class song. they didnt do many bad songs did they?

  • yea, bickler kikks jamisons ass any day!!!

  • Dave or Jimi pick your poison.............

  • Dave Bickler over Jimi always

  • Dave Bickler was the baddest looking cat of his day, and its massively supsetting he never released anything else in a proper band. Its sickening their is no survivor retrospective DVDs on the market

  • awesome riff ...what an awesome band

  • the kings of riffs

  • I hear an almost "Queen" quality in this, and it's fantastic. This band has had some amazing members in its day.

  • This record has some really good guitars! I still crank this one!

  • uh...actually Dave was not that great a frontman.

Jimi was better, and Robin is actually great.

but Dave had the best vocal range and he could do it all live.. the true measure of a vocalist

  • Survivor with Bickler > Post Bickler

  • I haven't heard this in my life! This is a bad ass tune. Cool riff and vocal harmonies. Bickler is a great vocalist.

  • Bickler is a real awesome!!!!!

  • @CapralYasya totally awesome he was, he kikked jamis ass big time!

  • where the fuck can i get a tab of this.

  • dave bickler was so cool and original.

  • I agree, but the beret has to go.

  • One of the best frontman ever, amazing voice.

  • agreed.. in later times jameson was a good "commercial" singer .. still good stuff though :)

  • Damn right, this was a solid band and a solid album.

  • voice of Bickler is awesome

  • Remeber this amazing ballad: Ever Since the World Began????

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOHHH YESSSSSSS!

  • hell yeah!

  • @lacuadra70 yes but is of jimi jamison alone.

  • @lacuadra70

that is my all time fave survivor song of all time!!!!

    glad someone else remembered it!

  • @lacuadra70 ARE YOU GIDDING? how could someone foget one of the most beautiful songs ever since the world began?

  • It's easy to forget just how good and consistent the Eye Of The Tiger album is. There are some MONSTER songs on that record that get overlooked because of the title track. Along with Caught In The Game it's my favourite Survivor album...and Dave Bickler is THE man!

  • Why can't I find songs like Chevy Nights anywhere. Bickler is my fav. Jamisons great though

  • Another great song from these guys. Thanks for the upload.

  • Rip off some Britney Spears or something, PAY for the good stuff :)

  • the guitar riffs,12 strg intro-really great song!i used to have this record in cassette tapes last time.survivor rocks!

  • oh the friggin memories hah?! Gotta love the 80s stuff! <3

  • Dave was such a cool mother fucker back then. Survivor rules!

  • i like dave more than jimi cuz dave has a better voice and he is more cooler and original. I WANT HIM BACK!!!!!

  • Survivor Is A Good Band These Guys Are Great. Dave Bickler, Jim Peterik, Frankie Sullivan, Stephan Ellis And Marc Droubay Great Band.

  • where do you download the mp3 file for free? i can't find it on 4shared

  • wat about limewire?

  • The guitar is fricken terrific!

  • good song. wen did it com out? i wanna say '81, but im not sure. love this band, very inspirational.

  • at thge first part it looks animated

  • Yeah Bickler was great. A cross between Steve Perry and Steve Walsh in my opinion.

  • i mistaked his voice for steve perry one time. pretty funny huh?

  • Dammit! This was a GREAT band! Classic Les Paul sound!

  • I need this tab!

  • Toto meets Kansas

  • Dave Bickler is a legend!

  • Man, Dave Bickler was gorgeous. Stunning.

  • Peterik is and always was the writer and brains of Survivor. Orig member of Ides of March, etc. Played Les Paul on this song, sang and also played organ/piano on most Survivor tunes. Last I heard, he doesn't have much to do w/ the new band "Survivor"

  • This was shortly before LA bands lifted and then LOST early metal.

  • joder, de puta madre grande SURVIVOR!!!!!!!!

  • real nice song-i think the intro was played on a 12 string.

  • Sure sounds like it!

  • this is the real hit from eye of the tiger

    hands down best

  • ANyone got "The Search Is Over" Live performance ? THe younger JImi Jameson pls..

  • Children of the night, Eye of the tiger, Caught in the game, and Burning heart are my favorite of their songs, but I like dave more than Jimi.:D

  • Dave Bickler is so HOT!!!!!!!

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally thought Dave Bickler was Jimmi Jamison, so Dave Bickler was the one who got sugery on his vocal cords, and the one who sings this song? I listened to a newer version of "eye of the tiger"by Dave Bickler and he can`t sing anymore it sounded really bad!!!! I kind of feel sorry for him that he can`t sing good any more.

  • I beg to differ. Have you heard the commercials "real men of genius". That is Dave Bickler. He sounds great!!

  • Best song ever!!!!!! Jimi Jamison was cute then but he is like 57 now,I think. He was born August 23,1951, so you do the math.

  • he is not J.J. he is Dave Bickler!!!

  • My dad was telling me to look up some of the songs he listened to when he was a kid, I did and that is how I am like obsessed with thier music now!!!!:D

  • vocalist name???

  • Dave Bickler

  • rock and rooooooooooooooooooolll!!!!!!

  • Good review, but I believe the video shows Frankie Sullivan playing the solo. But it's a good solo and song, regardless.

  • I remember them when they were a bar band in the late70's, early 80's

  • I always loved this song. THought it was such a great record for the time, despite Eye of the Tiger.

  • this band and music rocks but some of these videos are really corny and no1 ever has any real emotion lol

  • Dave's putting out a new cd. He has a my space now. Go check it out!

  • that rocks! \m/(;..; ) i secretely listen to that between 2 death metal song ;)

  • Dave B., if you read these--you rock!!! The only thing more awesome than a great rock voice, is singing for(-and the gratitude of-}and to little people! Those kids are so lucky! The best decision I ever made too...selfless and fun. God Bless.

  • I would know Dave Bickler's voice anywhere.

The purity of his voice's raw edginess is of the finest kind, and perhaps not truly appreciated by me until today.

  • This is like... the best band ever!!

  • I AGREE!!! Jami Jamison is a great singer in his own right and did fit in good with Survivor, BUT Dave Bickler was better!!

  • Very much agreed.

  • eye of the tiger was the hit, the rest of the album are the "diamonds"

  • Too bad that most people now only know "Survivor" the T.V show....Instead of one of the best bands!! The whole album rocks! On my top ten if I were stranded on an island or a far away place.....Cheers!

  • @rushangus: I'm sure more people are familiar with this band than the TV show simply because of the Rocky Films. I mean, who hasn't heard "Eye of the Tiger"?

  • I still get chills seeing this!! This was one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar. Frankie's guitar riffs thru there are awesome, love the solo, and only Dave can sing this. They never got the pr they should have and Dave is the better singer. Anyone out there have info on Dave's solo demo or possibly The Fire Makes Steel sessions?

  • I would love to get my hands on the Fire makes steel sessions with Dave. I love Jimi J but Dave Bickler was always da man!!

  • I did an on line search for Survivor Fire Makes Steel unreleased demo a few times and it finally popped up and I bought it. It's good. Dave's voice is his own. There's quite a few good songs on it. Dave is da man!

  • Still have the vinyl copy of this album my dad bought me back in the early 80's.My first introduction to "hard rock" leading to the murky world of metal ha ha.gonna through it on now,for old times sake.Great musicians.

  • Awesome video! Loved Bickler and the raw hard rock guitars. The stage here reminds me of the good old days at the bars in WI where we drove up to see them every weekend they played. Wish there were more vids like this. Jim going wild on rhythm guitar, Frankie's solos, Marc and Stephen hitting it hard, and Dave's pristine piercing vocals. Those were the days. Just saw them again at a local fest in IL with Robin at front, and they are still great now, but nothing beats those old memories.

  • Wow! Wish I had your memories. I just 'discovered' Bickler last year... saw Dio in IL last year but I definitely woulda drove from KY to see Survivor, with or without the Bick!

  • If you want to see Survivor live, they play Joliet IL on 9/20 outside Harrah's casino. Frankie and Marc are the only "originals", but they are still great and Robin is awesome! I was lucky to be able to see them on those tiny stages in the bars at least 15 times. The first single "Somewhere in America" was a local hit, and the bars were always packed. Later, I was also lucky to hear an extra casting call for the blurred nightclub scene in "I Can't Hold Back" vid. Great band, great memories!

  • actually Marc Droubay is not the original drummer. MD is the replacement.

  • Yes, Marc is the 2nd drummer, but I consider him an "original" at over 25 years with Frankie, with only a short time away from the band. Gary Smith was the original drummer on 1st LP, and when they first played the bars and other Chicago area concert events, but IMO, Marc deserves a lot of credit for the final sound of Survivor from Premonition forward. He will always be an "original" to me.

  • yeah, whenever i think of the drummer for Survivor, i think of Droubay.

  • Great stuff, more bickler please,he was the man.

  • He sure was the man!!!

  • tHANK YOU GOOD I STILL LOVE High On You Better.

  • BUEAN AH

  • Kick ass. This entire album is great. Thanks for the post..

  • This is a fuckin awesome song. Heavy rock from the olden days. Killer shit.

  • Great song, excellent guitar, drums and vocal work! 100% all around stellar band effort...and killer backup vocals too!!!

  • Great, great song but an odd choice for a single.

  • This is a good song! I love it =) Survivor is such an awesome band and they deserve way more credit then they have currently.

  • Eye of the Tiger was their second best album... Premonition was their absolute best!

  • agreed!

  • I wonder why so few videos from one of the greatest albums of the world. Isn't there anyone who could deliver songs like Ever Since The World Began?

  • I wonder why there are so few Survivor videos from the best album of the world: Eye of the Tiger. The album is full of great songs that haven't got the glory they deserve! And no one can sing like Dave Bickler did. I believe his high singing style was the cause of developement of those polyps in his vocal cords.

I would applaude for every video from the Tiger album.

    Cheers!

  • I totall agree!! This album was played in my house for 6 months solid after I bought it! What a voice!!!!

    Peace.

  • Finally! I've been wanting to see this video for 6 years!!! Thank you for uploading!

  • their best album!

  • I wish Frankie used more of the hard rock playing that he displayed on this album. Children of the Night and Eye of the Tiger are hard rock anthems. They would've done well to have continued in that direction....

  • really cool song from eye of the tiger 82.

  • Apex, you rule! thanks for posting. My favorite video by my favorite band;)

  • Great tune from a faboulus album ... my heros!
