I'm an HKIS alumn, what a cute idea. It was also great to see all of the same places I visited in Central, Stanley, and of course the HKIS fountain courtyard.
@MiekaDebo lol yeah!!! it was actually kinda cool doing this for my senior project though lol just how powerful a human touch can be and how it can make your day hugging a complete stranger...its weird but it works
yeah i agree with you on that, but hey if you look at the news right now in Hong Kong, there's a whole bunch of "free hugs" there now...kinda weird. lol
hehe, most of the people who hugged you are not the Chinese people, maybe it's because they don't understand English very well (but this is HK!) or maybe because of private Chinese chracter... :D
yeah for sure...I think its because Hong Kong itself is surrounded by all these technologies...well not only Hong Kong but EVERYWHERE and that people forget how powerful a human touch can be to a stranger. Like i said, its better to give than to recieve. If you give strangers hugs then for sure you'll know that you put a smile on their face :D
well it was basically for a senior project...i guess it gives us a perspective of how its good to give than recieve...and the fact that a single human touch is powerful...=)
@sunofwar thats a very good question, sorry it took a while to respond to it...well i think one thing i did achieve while doing this was bringing smiles to everyone that i hugged...strangers dont know me, i dont know them, it might be a win win situation?. i personally love hugs, so i could careless if it was from a stranger because I'm sure it'll make my day anywhere around the world. I think by hugging a complete stranger, it just reminds you that you're just a human being in this big world.
lol, whats wrong with me! sometimes i type too fast and thats what happens. that kind of right reffers to direction, thanks for noticing... lol.
thats interesting, how come they never taught you chinese characters, its part of your culture and heritage, it would be like me not being taught the english alphabet and instead being taught chinese characters! I mean i luv learning the chinese language and the characters but then i wouldn't be able read things in my own language.
its not that they never taught me chinese. its just the fact that i never wanted to learn...my first language was thai, and then english as my second...and plus. hong kong was once ruled by the UK, so you can practically get around anywhere by just using english. by living there for so long, i understand chinese, but i could barely speak and write.
excuse me if if this might sound rude, but if you couldn't right chinese characters where are you from? I'm surprised to see how many tourists there are....
thats because i never learned...even though i was born and raised in hong kong, and graduated, and now i attend brooks. and you spelled "write" wrong by the way =)
JASONNNN!!! I MISSS YOUU TOOOOO~!!!! COME VISIT ME IN SAN FRAN!!! oh haha and guess what?!?! my name was in the newspaper in hong kong! ha! =P. I LOVE YOUUUU XD
True.. there has been a test on how hk people will react to a stranger who needs a hand on opening the door for him, and hk has the lowest score, shame.
hey todog dun go extreme... the prerequisite for people to give her a hug is to understand the word "Free hug"... many ppl there don't i suppose... u cant blame them
Oh this made me smile!! Thank you!! :o)
