I like this song alot for its content and the calming singing.

However, the thoughts this is stirring up in me are a bit complicated.

We create not only what controlls us but also what we hate. We have a government just because we fear others arent able to controll them selfes, so

we push the bothersome job onto something thats not "us" like the government.

While we wish for them to controll the others. we ignore the fact that we may be manipulated and suddenly act all suprised?

Technically speaking different races are just slight divergences of genetics, not really alternate species exactly, over time different species will develop.

Well there is biological history. We evolved from primates, we are very similar to both chimpanzees and bonobos. It stands to reason that the majority of our psychological and physical makeup comes from animals biology. I mean, we literally are animals, why should it be strange that we are essentially the same as other animals?

BEcause discovering that one or more of the ideals you base your existence on (not to get existential here) are in fact false. Then everything you believe based on those ideals is false or misguided. The comfort derived from those beliefs falls away to the unknown. Fearing the unknown, we'd rather not reevaluate ourselves. But we need to. And introspection is sorely lacking today.

It's a provocative song. I am a Zeitgheist fan, and not to sound paranoid but we should question everything. Very few things in reality are altruistic and many things that come at a low cost to us is costing people somewhere a lot. And I'm not talking about money, money is an arbitrary measure like inches or kilograms. Yet this measure governs almost everything we do in North America. It creates the disparities we see or experience everyday on street corners and in our homes.

Money talk aside, we wake up and walk out our doors to our vehicles, complain about the weather, buy a coffee, drive to work (or the mall), complain about the traffic jams, complain about the stupid drivers, etc. We have nothing to complain about... Our iPods, Acuras, and HDTV, even a banana or a cup of coffee has costs associated with it that most never see. Few stop to wonder how what we own came to be ours. We just pay for it and continue being ignorant.
