  • The baby was dancing inside with her. Go ahead mama :)

  • i wonder whts the baby doing inside

  • Awwwww

  • Beautiful and I am currently trying to co ceive so when I am pregnant I will also be belly dancing for me and my baby!

  • @rosecanino This is both a very moving and powerful performance. I want to wish you well, Ms. Canino.

  • this music is very relaxing

  • @nocturne1980 It's called Mirage from Gypsy Caravan

  • beautiful! hope that by the time i might be pregnant (i'm still 14 now, so that'll take a while) that i can still dance, and be as amazing as you are!

  • This is SO beautiful that I am crying! Women have been chosen, to bear humanity!

This is something sacred given to us and only to us! Did you know, you probably do,

That your baby can hear/feel the vibes of your music and dance? BLESS YOU ROSE CANINO and your beautiful children!!!!!!

  • One more thing... Some individuals may think pregnant bodies are sexy, beautiful, or hideous. Personal preference, you can't control it, whatever. I respect that. But if you think it's gross, who is holding a gun to your head to watch? Just close the window, you don't have to post bitchy things about it. We have personal choice in our video viewing! The huge number of views that videos showing people popping giant zits gets is proof of that. Get over it.

    Sorry guys...was pissed

  • 2) Provided there are no complications and the doctor okays it, belly dance is actually GOOD for pregnancy. It strengthens muscles that are used in childbirth, can ease back pain, and some of the movements can even help position the baby for delivery. Many babies seem to like belly rolls and shimmies, too. :) You just should never try any activity that is very different from what your previous level of fitness allowed leading up to pregnancy.

  • 1) The point of belly dancing (yes, even cabaret style dancing!) is NOT to entice men. It's a women's folk dance, one that in fact is believed to have roots in childbirth ritual. Hollywood gave it that provocative image, along with some deliberate misleading by show promoters at the Chicago World's Fair back in 1893. A few modern dancers give it a bad image, too, because this is what they think sells, but there is nothing innately vulgar about belly dance.

  • Beatiful, Rose... this kind of feminine power is what belly dance is all about! It broke my heart to learn the outcome of the pregnancy. I hope the next one had a happier ending

I'm a bellydancer (performer & teacher) who is currently pregnant -- mostly on sabbatical from performing because, unfortunately, too many idiots see my belly as a "disfigurement" (seriously, WTF is wrong with our society??) -- and wanted to clarify some things for a few morons here:

  • GORGEOUS!

  • Soooooo beautiful, i teared up too.. You can bet i am going to be dancing when im pregnant. its such a lovley miracle and the slow dancing really accentuates the gracefulness of the mothher =-)

  • Powerful!

  • awesome!!! :') soooo beautiful... Your child have to be proud of u and love u so much!

  • So pure and beautiful! :)

  • Please, please let me know if you have a video with a tutorial for pregnant women available for purchase.

this is beautiful, i think all pregnant ladies should have the opportunity to embrace the power of dance to celebrate their womanhood and creativity.

  • @onefleetingsmile go to amazon, they have some pregnant bellydance videos you can buy there, usually for REALLY cheap!

You can even do regular oriental, tribal, or tribal fusion bellydance while you're pregnant too! lol I just bought a tribal fusion DVD and I can't wait to try it out. I hope my belly looks as good as hers when i get to be that far along! rofl i feel like a big ol blimp sometimes.

  • ive always thought belly dancing was an expression of the power of sexuality and the strength of being a woman and this confirms it. i hope things turned out well for you and any future children share your dancing talent

  • Beautiful

  • è la cosa più meravigliosa che ci possa essere al mondo..una donna danzare con il pancione..che meraviglia!

  • lol.....

  • So sad that so many people would put what they did on this page after learning that she had a miscarriage. I know it was a long time ago, but it never seems to escape the mind. I would know as I have had a miscarriage too, and in my second pregnancy. Keep dancing, girl, and I hope that you have some wonderful experiences!

  • estoy encantada con el video, leyendo los comentarios supe de la perdida, es tan triste, pero la vida sigue su curso tus bbs futuros son la bendición, espero que todos bailen tan hermoso como tu!

  • I woner if bellyrolling is good for the baby '_' very beatifull though

  • well, as belly dancing was taken part in india to help ease labor pains... andhas been done for a while, i'm sure the baby's fine :)

Other than that, beautiful dance, and absolutely gorgeous :)

  • Belly Dancing was originally 'made' to help with labor so no it doesn't hurt the baby it actually helps...

  • Its fine actually in this case, as most doctors will tell you your allowed to continue any excessive or action (within reason) during pregnancy that you have been partaking in at least 6 months prior to getting pregnant... I am guessing she has been dancing for longer then 6 months :P

  • Listen to your doctors, listen to your body, listen to the baby. My friend teaches and she danced during her term. The baby was born just fine and with one big appetite! He's healthy, strong, and huge!

You are the epitome of the celebration of the divine feminine in all of us. Thank you for keeping the original intentions of belly dance alive and celebrated. You're gorgeous!

  • i love this! way to take belly dance back to its roots!

  • Thats a big pregnant belly does anyone know if she gave birth to twins?

  • No, it was one baby, and unfortunately, she miscarried it shortly after this dance was filmed. Go back to the beginning of the comments to read what she said about it.

  • I got tears in my eyes watching this.....how beautiful and the music is something special too. Thanks for sharing. xxx

  • with beautiful moves like that... i bet baby will come out dancing on his/her feet.. Just beautiful..

  • I am egyptian and now you make me imagine if my mother did that while I was in her belly

  • I've always wondered what it would feel like to dance pregnant... (of course I've also wondered what it would feel like to be pregnant lol)

Doing undulations look like they would feel strange... the baby is probably like "Oh massage." =P

Beautiful dance. So sensual and peaceful.

  • The baby must be so peacful, This is such an emotional dance especially to dance with your child, I'm tearing a bit.

  • This really touched me. I hope to have a troupe of close women when I am with child. You got it right girl, thank you for being such a wonderful goddess mother.

  • I agree, it's very emotional. Beautiful dance!

  • tribal is my favorite kind of belly dance

  • She's the most sweetest and beautiful dancer I've ever seen! So emotional!!!

  • it's interesting because i think the rocking motions are good for the baby. i heard about it somewhere and i think that it's a good and beautiful way to dance.

i want to do that when i have a kid of my own....but not for another 10 years though lol still in my teens.

  • That's so beautiful. I really love it! Keep dancing pregnant or not b/c either way its beautiful. I know I will still dance when im that big as well! i read a story from a book a teacher wrote about how it helped her through labor. :D

  • Thats what "belly dance" was used for to start with. For fertility and child birthing purposes. research your stuff! Its actually pretty cool.

  • they called it baby yoga ...lol

  • This was soo beautiful. I hope this is me when I become pregnant.

  • linda, linda, linda!

Good luck with the new pregnancy. Love, light and peace to you and yours.

  • Wow ...I didn't know she lost the baby :(

I was about to leave a comment about how lovely the white decorations were, and instead I'm writing with tears in my eyes. That's sooooo sad...what happened? Well...at least the baby got to enjoy the music and the joyful dancing of it's mom with the little time alive :)

  • Beatiful woman, nice and big gelly.Thank you for sharing, godess.

  • Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

  • Great dancer!

  • So sorry to hear about the loss of the baby. What a beautiful dancer! I, too, danced all throughout my pregnancy. I was lucky to have a beautiful healthy boy (he's 13 now.. teenagers... sheesh!) I had a hard pregnancy with terrible digestive problems, but an easy delivery due to having healthy muscles and flexibility, and I credit the dance for the easy delivery.

  • that baby must of been having some fun in there n.n Beautiful!

  • That must feel sooo good! I wish I was you! How beautiful!

  • beautiful dance!! =)

  • the person that said those awful things about this performer, is a loser!!! Wonderful dance ,

  • I was so emotionally moved watching this woman dance I was actaully in tears and once I read that she lost this precious little life my heart ached for her. So to read the filth that Mr Unjust felt the need to write sent me into a fury.

  • Wow that's pretty amazing, thanks for posting

  • I am shocked at how VILE Mr Unjust is. Your mama probably beat you daily which is why you hate women. Some men just have a problem with strong women--what a sad pathtic lil man. THis dancer is beautiful and dosn't need nor require your approval. You probably can't even get a real woman which is why you have to watch them on your computer and how do you say splooge on the floor. What a loser you are.

  • beautiful and somewhat mesmerizing. nice video

  • she's gorgeous!

  • I wonder if you call the mother who carried you disgusting... Please be mature and if you do not have something good to say, say nothing at all.

  • Pregnancy is the most amazing thing in our world and it is the best time in a woman's life. Every pregnant woman should be as proud as theis belly dancer. You obviously dont understand the point of belly dancing and should no longer watch it. You are to stupid to post, shut up.

  • nuff said!

  • I think u definitely have a problem, this video shows that pregnant women can be sexy within themselves and it is not meant to be sexual! get a life, ur username speaks for yourself! If you want videos to make ur sex life better youtube is not the place for you honey...

  • *The point of modern belly dancing is to arouse men*

The point of cabaret-style bellydancing, maybe, but this style is tribal fusion. The point of tribal fusion-style bellydancing is to dance and enjoy dancing and celebrate life, which is obviously what this dancer is doing.

*that's why there aren't any fat chicks that get paid good money to do it in public.*

    Untrue.

  • oh please! I wonder how YOU look! lmao! maybe you have no 'real' sex life and need to come here to get your thing going haha!!!!!! and BTW, I AM a TV host and no need for a job :) thank u!

  • Ohhh, troll. How silly of me. I thought you were a person.

  • belly dancing's purpose is NOT to arouse men. it was originally a dance of celebration that both men AND women preformed.

    this is beautiful!

  • @UlricTheUnjust The history of belly dancing, tells us that it was a ritual taught by midwives to pregnant woman. It has been a tradition with gypsy women for centuries, to learn belly dancing while pregnant to help ease the cramps, bloating, etc. Only perverted men such as yourself would look at a pregnant woman or a belly dancer and see her as a sexual object. Get your mind out of the gutter, you ought to be ashamed of yourself for being so disrespectful of women!

  • What are you afraid of?

  • Great way to keep in shape during pregnancy, kudos to you!

  • this is nice

  • beautiful and inspiring

  • Gotta love belly dance stuff :) Shokran !!!!

  • so incredibly beautiful!

  • who says the baby has to come out of you

  • Very pretty! That baby will come out belly dancing. LOL

  • such luscious beauty, celebration of life, what a amazing video in the tomb of the dead

  • yes. belly dancing was origonally used while in labor to help the mother through the pains. It was also sorta like a fun little women get together thing they would do in a tent with no men aloud. then women were sold into slavery and thats why the art is misinterpreted now days a lot as man pleasing.

  • clh, you hit the nail right on the head

  • So Cut!!!and Beautiful!

  • Wow, that looks like it'd be SO hard to do while pregnant! Nice job!

  • bellydancing was origanally done while pregnant

  • This was the most beautiful and moving dance I have seen. Reading about your outcome made it even more special. I wish peace and joy for your family and please keep dancing. Bright Blessings!

  • for the ancient times, this was a form of helping the baby move into the correct posistion for birth, and the way she sways her hips resembles a cradle, rocking the baby to sleep. it also forms a spiritual connection with the baby

its really cool how prenatal bellydancing came about

  • Interesting. Can you elaborate? Where is this information actually physically located so that I can research this on my own?

  • all over

  • all over where?

  • internet, dancers you see at fairs, books, raks al sharqi.

  • What books? Where on the Internet?

I don't mean to be facetious, just trying to get the facts. Can you list specific books and historical references? Just "talking" to dancers is not good enough. Raks al Sharqi just meant dance of the East. If you don't mind, and since you've stated so, where would I go *specifically* to find the proof? Thanks much.

  • It's loooovely. thank you for sharing.

  • How she can dance when she's pregnant??? God it's very interesting... I don't know what to tell...but I'm without words...

  • very interesting to watch.

  • thank you for sharing this video.

  • LOL, teaching from womb. that's what my mother did too bad i only have photos, this would have been awesome to see.

  • Hope to see more from you soon.

  • A lovely and under the circumstances, a very touching video. Such a wonderful way to say goodbye to your child. Never mind the naysayers; they have a lot of growing up to do! This was a quintessential expression of the feminine!

  • Agreed

  • Very beautiful, beyond words! I am so sorry to hear about your loss, but I wish you the best with this pregnancy.

  • As another pregnant belly dancer i would love to meet some of you people in public and beat the snot out of you. If it wasn't for pregnancy you wouldn't be here to leave your trash on some very beautiful talented ladys page. I think all your nagitivity will come back on you all, and i would like to tell Rose to keep dancing no matter what! i'm inspired by you and your story with this video. You Look Like A Goddess!

  • Dear Rose, what horror have you been through... I have just lost my baby too and I can relate so well. But it was your beautiful video which helped me to dance my baby good-bye in the hospital. With no costume and a squeaking mp3 coming from my mobile but still, for me it was a proper and needed way to say good-bye. THANKYOU so so much for that - I hope everything went well with your next pregnancy. Please, keep us update! Thinking of you... :-)

  • i really need the music in this video!!!! someone please help me find out who it is!! and the dancing.. ohh mmyyyy godddd.. that was one of THE MOST beautiful things i've ever seen. it makes me want to get pregnant so i can pregnant belly dance!!! anyone know the song or can send it to me???

  • Beautiful... for those of you that are apparently commenting with education on the topic, belly dancing was created by women for women during pregnancy & labor. This video is an example of its original intention... it wasn't until Western culture got a hold of it that is was turned into something provocative.

  • No, as a matter of fact they DIDN'T dance in public. It was done in private among the women of the house. Once men became entranced by belly dancing, it came into the public arena. This video is merely an expression of the dance's original beauty & intention... by the way, what's your big issue with an "exposed" pregnant belly... did you forget that YOU happened to be in a pregnant belly one time, too???? Sheeesh... get a grip & jump on in to the 21st century!

  • It is true that women did dance like this in private. They would get together with other women and just dance. The would let their hair down and do alot that you don't see here, like toss their heads back and forth to show of their hair, something they couldn't do around the men. It was like a celebration of being a woman, of giving life and being the vessels for life.

  • If it makes you feel like puking, why don't you JUST NOT WATCH? Women hid their swelling tummies and then went into hiding when they couldn't because it was an indication that they had had sex. Men were commended for their part in conception but women were once again considered soiled somehow. Why should women feel ashamed of being pregnant? It's how we all got here. It should be, and is in this video, celebrated.

  • I agree that we don't see things the same way and that's fine. Good, even. What I wonder is: This woman lost that baby and this dance, looking back, was a spiritual way for her to say goodbye to her stillborn baby...would this not be one of those times where your negative (or anyone's) opinion could just not have been posted?

  • Shame is a rediculous, society-imposed idea meant to "protect" those that are afraid that they aren't normal. Thanks to the Puritans, shame set America back hundreds of years culturally.
