Long animations like ark need to have a limit break seriously anyone who can attack at least twice dealing only 5000 per hit does more in a single turn than destroying the planet with a ridiculous summon or attack.

Question, are you supposed to have some of these along the course of the game? I just started and I already have a summon option with Shiva, Ifrit, Bahamut, and Odin. I can't use them due to Garnet having low MP, so I find it kinda strange that I have the option to use them.

@NeroLlewellyn I know its different, im just saying that when the damage cap is only 9999 there are many multiple attacks that do equally that much damage for less MP and they only take like 10 seconds to animate the attack, having a summon that does a rather easily accomplished 9999 with a wickedly overly long animation, making it seem like my previous comparison Eden a summon who had an animation equally as long, but whipped out 4X more damage, and having it only do 9999 is just pointless.

@UnidentifiedLifeform However if you use Auto-Regen, ARK can do 9999 and at the same time your entire party will fill back to full. Always a good thing to have when you don't feel 1 heal will fix everyone up and do 9999 in the process. :)

Having an animation that wickedly long is just pointless for reaching the 9999 damage cap because there are other attacks that can do it a lot faster, and if memory serves, for less MP. I dont really care how it looks, but the length is just pointless. Again at least when Edens animation took 5 centuries you could expect a lot of damage, where as arks its just pointless

I played ffix first and the ffxiii, got sleepy with the junction tutorial so i skipped and wonder... I'm level 21 and why does my stats never change that much, I wonder why O_O. Anyway, ffix is very user friendly.

Ark is a decent summon.. But I think that they should've made that particular summon into Alexandria Castle and let Dagger have Alexander as a summon instead. Just saying; why invent an esper/eidolon/fayth etc for one game and then scrap it? Like Eden for part 8? Or Crusador (Part 6) or Knights of the Round (Part 7)? Keep the best Eidolons people! Pretty cool. Flame me or no, though, I like the newer summons, like in 10 and 13, a bit better. They seem more integrated into the story (although, to be honest, I don't have a PS, so I haven't played 9). Point being, the newer ones experimented with new summons and different ways to make the characters interact with them, which is more of improvement too me. Don't get me wrong though, I like these ones as well. Classics are always good.

Previous Final Fantasy's came out on NES, SNES, GameBoy, Sega MegaDrive, GameCube so check your facts before you have a go at me. I think you need to collect 2 pumice peices and combine them. The item you get wil give you the ability to learn Ark summon. (If I remember correctly)

Ramuh - just seems like an odd summon to me. looked almost like a rip-off of Quezacotl

Atomos - interesting idea, but again looked a little like an edit of Diablos

Odin - FF8 version looks better in my opinion

Leviathan - looks better in FF8 but attack is better in this one

Bahamut - As usual, I think FF8 wins except for the firing of the big beam.

Ark - I see this is the replacement of Eden. I have to admit, the attack is cooler than Eden's, but Eden's is amazing for damage

His first appearance is in Final Fantasy 7

Carbuncle - looked very FF7-ish. FF8 is better

Fenrir - looked lower quality than it should be at first, second attack was pretty cool though. pretty much combination of pandemona & brothers from FF8

Phoenix - that wasn't bad

Madeen - probably would have fit right in on FFX

Shiva - too shortlived. FF8 was better

Ifrit - I haven't seen any version of Ifrit that has beaten FF8 in my opinion for appearance and his attack
