This is actually has a story behind it. When Portal was first announced, and Valve introduced the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device (ASHPD), players noticed that the initials ASHPD could be a shortening of Adrian Shephard, the US Marine Corporal from Half Life: Opposing Force. When Valve noticed this, they decided to put a little nod to that in the game. So on all of the keyboards, the letters in Adrian Shephard are highlighted in yellow.
