I fel in love in this movie and ready to watch it 100000000000 times. great script, great direction, great music and great, great, great performances. Best duo I ever seen in a movie.
the music from 4.27 is very sad, and really makes you think they had sucha great adventure and it really does an excellent job making you feel everything is wrapped up well. I really love this movie, it is so much more entertaining that the fucking crap hollywood makes these days with inflated budgets and cgi these days movies are about making huge profits and returns back, so they make dumbed down films with no heart no character development and no class. i miss this era, and the early 90s. fck
Classic. I always loved this film. About two years after it was released I found the tape version of the soundtrack buried in a 99 cents bin at Walmart. For my 99 cents I played the helll out of that soundtrack. A true Danny Elfman classic.
Well I gotta say this is the first time I've watched this film and I liked it. Robert De Niro's amazing acting really makes this film hold up as well as some really good lines he delivers. His character also has some really good motivation skills. Although, I prefer 48 as that's my favorite buddy cop movie this one's okay.
What a great scene-I've seen this a few times and every time it still brings many laughs. " A very respectable neighborhood .Take Care" " looks like I'm walking" Great upload.
thanks for loading, what a great film. yeah you're all right, they don't make great movies likt this anymore, they rely more on special FX. they should made a sequel for this 2 character & Robert de Niro & Charles Grodin should won an OSCAR for their roles
The first time I watched this movie was two years ago. I was going thru a horrible depression and the only thing that kept me from thinking about it was watching this. This movie made me feel a hundred percent better about myself. This is hands down the truly most wonderful movie I ever saw in my entire life. Thanks for uploading this. So long everybody!!
Midnight Run 2 is in development and ready to go Di'nero and team 2gether again word has it Jimmy puts a hit on roberts daughter and dinero and team must find her before he does it will bw a comedy a little darker but funny also look for it 2012 release should be funny same director also
this film has no flaws. perfect on every level. i'm posting this after having watched it for probably the 50th time since its release. i was 13 when it came out, perfect then, perfect now.
A very poignant ending to a great movie. DeNiro and Grodin have instant chemistry and it's great to watch them evolve throughout the movie into friends of sorts.
@Knigrgdrad have the soundtrack with Danny Elfman singin that song awesome CD got it on E-bay for 4.00 new! not even opened total cost was 8.00 worth it check out E-bay someone will have it new or used.
I wish the soundtrack wasn't so damn expensive or I'd buy it. Well, at least Universal is re-releasing the film with the 3 TV movies, but we want special features with the first film including commentaries, documentaries, isolated score, deleted scenes etc. Who's with me?
Such a charming an.d funny film with amazing characters, amazing script and cool 80's music. i wonder if there's any truth behind these "buddy movies" cuz people can't just make this stuff up.
Whatever happened to Yaphet Kotto? He's a pretty good presence in this movie. And ballsy move to star Charles Grodin in it. I wouldnt have picked that one, but it comes off very well.
I said "past 15 years', so that counts out the three you mention. Go to IMDB, check out his films since 1996. Rocky and Bullwinkle? Ronin maybe. You have to agree there has been a lot of misses.
Thanks for posting. A great movie. Wonderful to see most people watched the whole thing. A few dropped off in the middle, but good turn out in the end. I see I'm covered in popcorn, now the lights have been switched on. Greatest...
Kick ass Film. Many thanks to the uploader!! De Niro and Farina rock in this movie. I've been looking to see this again and am stoked it was here. Thanks again!!
It's really no coincidence every movie DeNiro is in is a fucking classic. The guy makes every movie good where it wouldn't be otherwise, one of the greatest actors ever.
I just went back and took a look at this again. This movie is set in the '80s. Deniro pulls out $1,000 bills, but I think all those bills were pulled out of circulation in like, 1969.
@Dinyctis I made that point to a yank and he shot me down with some bullshit about them still being legal tender but I'm sure $100 are the biggest US bills.
Actually, that $100,000 probably seemed like another inducement to continue with something he really doesn't want, and wasn't about to let it happen again.
The ending doesn't feel contrived. Why? I think his self-worth was in the toilet. Doing humiliating work. Was forced out of being a cop. Didn't take that payoff but still likely felt defeated and ineffectual. That was more valuable to him than a coffee shop. At the end of the day, meaning, fulfillment and doing the right thing are what we all seek. I think a lot of us would pay $100,000 for that instead. Sometimes you just can't go on living a certain way.
All these modern buddy comedies are Martin Lawrence being a screechy pain in the arse, tacked on action scenes, loud explosions and stupid, over the top gags (Bad Boys 2 Exhibit A). This is the funniest, coolest, most exciting and most underrated buddy movie ever made. Even the ending makes me get a bit teary! See you in the next life.
I'm a big fan of happy endings in films, and this one is one of the best. Great actors, a great film, and a perfect ending. Well done. Very well done.
This is quite possibly the best Action/Comedy film of all time. Its amazing how Martin Brest could give them such a strong relationship ( De Niro and Gordon) in 126 minutes. Also this film has the best feel of a buddy film. Wish we could get this sort of movies again, now its all about the quantity, and not the quality of the films. Films were good back then...
@AhmadAlony123 most of the current crop of actors cannot act -they just gaze silently and scowl - di caprio/wahlberg/damon-they even look interchangeable and it is hard to find confident film score musicians or even directors - the semi decent ones are all going through the motions on autopilot with remakes and sequels. so many great stories out there to tell-so few willing to try -hollywood now run by actuaries . and enough with menstrual vampire movies with shaved chest males already
One of the best movies of all time!!! Too bad Hollywood can not come up with movies like this... its all about stupid remakes and tv shows being turned into movies!
Sometimes De Niro looks off to the side, and I wonder what or who's he's looking at, but I don't care - because HE ROCKS! NUMBER ONE actor! Especially in this role. This is one of his best roles... Perfect.
Heres my take on the sequel : Jacks cafe did indeed go under and hes back in the
bounty huntin business. His daughters a cop with Chicago PD and needs his help cuz shes being framed like he was 40 years ago. Only this time its the Russian mob thats runnin Chicago PD.
Thanks so much for uploading this movie. It puts a smile on my face to see this film again. this is my fav movie awesome could watch 1000 times never get sick of it.
This is one of those movies where I really get the sense that everyone who's involved in it was meant to get together and make this film. Everything about it feels so genuine.
Talk about the perfect ending to a film. The main character goes against his principles of turning his mark in, only to receive more than the reward he was supposed to get for turning the duke in. Thanks so much for uploading this movie. It puts a smile on my face to see this film again. Genius directing by Martin Brest...
I wonder what if they made a sequel to it. Jack finally opens his coffee shop and calls it "The Next Life". And one day he gets a visit from John, who is now settled abroad. And around the same time, Serrano is out of prison , looking for revenge. The other characters are back too. And a new love interest for Jack.
Funnily enough nethrit, the reason I'm revisiting this is because of an article in Empire dated March 5 2010 stating that Universal have locked down a deal with De Niro to produce and star in a sequel. Charles Grodin will not be returning. I'd include the link if they'd let me but the news snippet is called 'De Niro to Run Again'.
@manosblim --I'm going to have to put Raging Bull up there, too. I think that and King and Midnight Run are his best. Okay, can't forget Godfather Part 2. I don't always like his movies--Ronin, The Mission, Taxi Driver for example--but he's a flawless actor.
That was an awesome movie, still as good as when i watched it in grade 4

I wonder what if they made a sequel to it. Jack finally opens his coffee shop and calls it "The Next Life". And one day he gets a visit from John, who is now settled abroad. And around the same time, Serrano is out of prison , looking for revenge. The other characters are back too. And a new love interest for Jack.
Wouldn't that be something.
