Mine arrived today. It's amazing how much quieter this rifle is than the Gamo Whisper. The scope is high quality too.

i got the $110 Storm XT & $350 Gamo Hunter & NPSS in black. The NPSS has GREAT ACCURACY but lacks the power. Good for planking but horrible for hunting. I tried to kill rabbit (I was going to eat it tree huggers) and i hit it and it got away(do worry i got it later with me Gamo).

they say 950 fps. it's more like 650-740. no you don't need gas refills. it's an internal piston kinda like what you'd find on a hatchback door on a car.

It's $299 with fee shipping at Pyramydair. I have .22 caliber.

Compared to the daisy 1000 magnum, it's got 1/3 the recoil and almost no noise. Mine did not like the H&N crow magnums/

Hey I heard this NPSS Nitro is really quiet! Is really quiet? Or is it just as loud as any spring piston air rifle?

How about the recoil? Is it much less or the same as the any standard spring piston?

i've done a lot of research on these guns lately and hope to own one soon, so my info is heresay, but as far as i know, EVERY single person says this gun is quieter than a normal breakbarrel. part of that is the barrel shroud, and part of that is the gas spring, which makes no twang or anything like a normal spring. also, the recoil is the same amount, but it is a lot QUICKER and SHARPER. according to reviewers it feels like shooting a mid-caliber firearm in the quickness of the recoil.

In terms of sound, most air ram guns will be quieter than springed guns. This gun also has a thicker barrel than most airguns, making it even quieter. Their is also noticeably less recoil with air rams.

So to answer both your questions, it is quieter and has less recoil.

those things are nice but their really expensive tho
