@ihatchetjack. Sweet! You're my number way favorite person on youtube. I wish I knew more people like you. Thanks for all the info your share! Take care :)
Yes, I love to watch slinging videos and see if I han pick up any little subtleties.I'll often watch a particular clip 20 or 30 times. In your longer vid, slinging at the tree, I noticed the sling comes throgh to strike you roughly on the elbow of your left arm. In the water you sling more horizontally so the sling comes through and strikes you midway between elbow and shoulder.
I had a similar style change, I also like to keep my release cord out of the mud here in winter.
Nice! Difficult to sling standing in over ankle-deep water as you can't move your feet, even worse if the bottom's muddy and soft. Interesting how you modify your style a little to keep the sling out of the water. The sidearm looks good and powerful too.
@aussieslinger I definitely had to shorten my downward rotation. You're definitely a slinger for noticing! The side arm is less powerful than the figure eight, but still strong enough to take out small game or discourage an aggressive dog.
@gotrocksinhead If I managed to actually hit someones head with a full force throw they'd be toes up before the rock hit the ground. It's a very powerful little piece of primitive technology. I can imagine they'd be pretty easy to replicate primitively. Have you ever given it a try?
@IHatchetJack I played around with it a bit in high school... only about 20 years ago.. Had a lot of fun with it. Made mine out of leather. Never got very good at it but it was sure fun! You can year you rock being launched! Thats cool!
@EconoChallenge Just generally aiming for the bank. The flat rocks make a cool hum but they curve pretty badly so one went high, and one hit the water.

how accurate are you with that? i used to sling when i was a kid, never very good at any sort of accuracy at all but i could throw them far.

@cawkazn With decent stone shape I can hit a 4x8 target at 20 yards about three out of five times. Accuracy gets better once I warm up a bit.
