  • @ihatchetjack. Sweet! You're my number way favorite person on youtube. I wish I knew more people like you. Thanks for all the info your share! Take care :)

  • You should make a vid about how to made your sling :)

  • @christcalledcowboy It's coming, eventually.

  • You live in a beautiful area, I'm jealous. :)

Nice technique, ever go hunting with your sling?

  • @Ratd0g28 Only for rocks and trees. :)

  • Yes, I love to watch slinging videos and see if I han pick up any little subtleties.I'll often watch a particular clip 20 or 30 times. In your longer vid, slinging at the tree, I noticed the sling comes throgh to strike you roughly on the elbow of your left arm. In the water you sling more horizontally so the sling comes through and strikes you midway between elbow and shoulder.

I had a similar style change, I also like to keep my release cord out of the mud here in winter.

  • Nice! Difficult to sling standing in over ankle-deep water as you can't move your feet, even worse if the bottom's muddy and soft. Interesting how you modify your style a little to keep the sling out of the water. The sidearm looks good and powerful too.

  • @aussieslinger I definitely had to shorten my downward rotation. You're definitely a slinger for noticing! The side arm is less powerful than the figure eight, but still strong enough to take out small game or discourage an aggressive dog.

    Glad you liked the video!

  • That would leave a mark on someones ol bean!

  • @gotrocksinhead If I managed to actually hit someones head with a full force throw they'd be toes up before the rock hit the ground. It's a very powerful little piece of primitive technology. I can imagine they'd be pretty easy to replicate primitively. Have you ever given it a try?

  • @IHatchetJack I played around with it a bit in high school... only about 20 years ago.. Had a lot of fun with it. Made mine out of leather. Never got very good at it but it was sure fun! You can year you rock being launched! Thats cool!

  • Man that's really cool! Post a vid. On how your doin that. Btw the flint is coming soon! I'll PM you

  • Very good and strong shots, my friend!

  • how accurate are you with that? i used to sling when i was a kid, never very good at any sort of accuracy at all but i could throw them far.

  • @cawkazn With decent stone shape I can hit a 4x8 target at 20 yards about three out of five times. Accuracy gets better once I warm up a bit.

  • Nice video, looked like a nice place to relax and have some fun. Take care.

  • Really strong Video, Dusty.

Wow the projectile has a lot of power.... insanity.

    Have a nice weekend.

    Greetings Tito

  • @Naturliebe Thanks!

  • dammit dusty, stop being so cool

  • @max465t Believe me, I've tried.

  • Were you shooting for any particular target on this one?

  • @EconoChallenge Just generally aiming for the bank. The flat rocks make a cool hum but they curve pretty badly so one went high, and one hit the water.

  • Very cool Dusty. Can skip rocks with that thing?

    Nate

  • @CdnLifeguard71 I bet it's possible.

  • a sling is so damn hard to hit with,

    fredde

  • @hobbexp I feel confident enough to take on a giant philistine!

  • So you're the guy that was slinging rocks at my boat. I thought it was an angry sasquatch.

  • @crunksknunk haaa! I think I came pretty close to hitting a canoe full of tourists in Utah once...I really hope I missed.

  • The thrum sound is awesome

  • @Amarksyhk Cool sound, bad for accuracy...
