I think this was awesome!! They did a great job portraying the trials of life and the things that seperate us from Jesus. They also portrayed that even though we make mistakes, god is waiting for us after it's all over. I loved this, it brought tears to my eyes, because I have dealt with these things as many of us have.
This group of people I know personally and I think they did an awesome performance. It was a skit not done to compete against other churches deakin1984. But to move people deeply and to help people except Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Christians need to support other Christians, and not put them down. God Bless you Uprising of GPC!
I know the group personally that did this skit. It was not intended for a competition deakin1984. It was to move people to God, and to except Jesus as our Lord and savior. It is very deeply moving and an awesome performance. deakin1984 and some of these other people on here have too much waisted time on their hands. Christians need to support other christians, and not put them down. Uprising of GPC; I say God Bless you and keep up the good work!
A house divided against itself cannot stand who is the master here? This skit has been a blessing of revival for many. Has led many to repentance and to the Lord. It was written by the holy spirit, and is being used by GOD for his glory not that of men!
God bless!!! I am the head of our Dance team at United Apostolic Faith Church in Beckley, WV. and my team just did this skit for the first time yesterday!!! i talked to a lady and she showed my team the scars of her tryin to kill herself, and we had a backslider restored! it was amazing. I absolutely love this skit and the song. you guys did a really really good job! hopefully i will have the video of us doing it on here soon. Stay blessed!!!
"You really think if you think a law is "absurd" that you don't have to follow it? Check it out for yourself, you'll see I'm right."
"I wrote the skit. Again, check it out and you'll see I'm right."
What are we supposed to "check out"?
Please provide a link or something that we can "check out."
I'm not just saying this to be satirical. I really would like to know where I can find that deakin1984 wrote the skit and that playing music in public is against the law.
I have got to say I am very unhappy with the fighting that is going on about this skit. Everyone should be happy that this skit is so popular and touching so many lives. I have family members that have committed suicide and wish that they would have been able to see this. I had no idea that it was illegal to play songs with out permission in public. I do it everyday in my van. That is crazy. I wonder why they sell soundtracks so people can sing too. This is not setting a good example.
Deadkin1984 should post a link to the place where it states that songs, or more specifically "Everything," cannot be played in public without permission from the songwriter. This "law" seems absurd, seeing that songs are played in public places every day without permission from anyone.
May seem absurd to you, but it's the law none-the-less. lol! You really think if you think a law is "absurd" that you don't have to follow it? Check it out for yourself, you'll see I'm right.
Regarding the discussion about the rights to perform the "Everything" skit, common sense would say that deakin1984 in is no way affiliated with the Winterfest group that originally performed the skit. Instead, the authors of the skit are most likely pleasantly surprised by the popularity of the skit, and being believers in Christ, hope that their skit will be performed even more as a message of God's grace and love, instead of reproving others who wish to touch lives.
LOL! You people are too funny! I wrote the skit. Again, check it out and you'll see I'm right. Winterfest was the first, BECAUSE WE WROTE THE SKIT! LOL!
So you wrote this beautiful skit that shares the Love of God, but you won't freely share the Love of God? Whoever actually wrote this knows much more about God's love than you are demonstrating.
I Corinthians 13, read it. ..."love is not puffed up." Sadly, the skit is about him, but he is nowhere in any of this. He is love and humble. This is all about getting the glory for yourself.
I am a 40 mom for Mi. searching YouTube and found this skit. Awesome. As to postings below. Need I remind everyone that the song AND the skit were inspired by GOD, NOT Lighthouse or even you deakin, so please give the glory AND the credit to where the credit is REALLY due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Be careful, the world watches us Christians, the devil is laughing, a house divided cannot stand.
I totally agree with the above sentiments. And again I question why deakin1984 is making such a big deal about this when there are so many versions of this skit on the web.
Absolutely! All glory to God. I just wanted to "try the spirits" of this group. Just to see how they would respond, it was just as I suspected. They were defensive and mean. (And, our original was much better!)
Deakin, I'm sorry to see that you find it so important to insult my youth group. I've been very careful to word my responses to try to avoid any miscommunication, if only because I used my youth's name on this profile. Your attempt to show your "Christianity" by saying how glad you are God moved in our service is marred by your need to point out that YOUR group was first and YOUR group was better. I did not post this video to compare it to anyone, but only to share it with others.
If recognition is so important to you, please send me a link to your group's page with all the names of those who deserve the credit, and I promise that I will put that in the details of this page.
We did a much much better version of this at Winterfest in Knoxville. Looks like these guys completely ripped off the entire thing and didn't do near as good of a job with it.
I'm glad to hear that your group did such a great job on this skit. I never claimed that this was created by my youth, and I'm happy to give credit where it's due. When we did this skit, it touched a lot of lives. I don't think it should matter who came up with an idea, or who did it better. The point of this skit was to touch people and worship God, and that was our motivation. I'm sorry if we offended you by performing this skit. If you are the ones that came up with the idea, thank you.
I realize this could have been performed better, but the presence of God and the message it delivered couldn't have been any better. These guys only had 3 rehearsals before this event and they put all they into it and God honored the hard work by evidence of the impact it had on many lives which was the purpose to begin with.
It's a shame that you have such a poor attitude about this. I saw your version. I think you believe that because you have better lighting and a better stage you think yours was better. Also, did you write the song and perform it or did you rip it off? Also, how many other groups have done this same skit? Your attitude is extremely disappointing.
As a matter of fact we did write the skit, and we had permission from Iron Works to play the song. You don't think it should matter who came up with it because you didn't. I'm glad God used it. I'm just saying be creative, think for yourself. And if you're gonna rip a skit off, do it better than the original cause it'll always be compared to the original.
You also might want to look into the laws regarding public broadcast of copyrighted music: Therefore, persons or businesses wishing to play music "in the public domain" are legally required to obtain permission to use the mechanical recording of this music, from the mechanical copyright holder. In all cases, before a song title may be broadcast publicly, said use must be approved and licensed from BOTH the "song title" copyright owner and the "mechanical" copyright owner.
Assuming you are right about all of this, why are YOU making such a big deal about it? If your group owns a copyright on this skit, then by all means have the holder of the rights contact me and the video will be gone. If not, leave well enough alone. I also noticed that you haven't been harassing any of the other 50 or so groups that posted their performance on here.
I still fail to see why you are making such a big deal about this. If you are glad that God moved with our performance, then be satisfied that you were a part of that blessing.
You're right Deakin... they probably should've gotten permission, it wasn't quite as good as your video, and you're right that God used it. I was there, and the same presence of God I felt when I watched your video was there in that room.
Aren't you glad that God blesses our best efforts? Even if they usually fall very short of perfection...
I'm glad God blesses you and no one else. It must be nice to be so privileged. You and deakin1984 are good examples of why so many people have problems with Christians.
CALM DOWN WARPSTER... lol! I was on the Uprisings side on this! I was saying I was there and even if it wasn't better that God used it. The lady who directed the skit at GPC is one of my close friends... so put your guns back in the holsters! lol...
And for the record, this church is very creative. They've written, directed and produced lots of original drama's & skits in the last 10 years. Some of the most creative people I've ever met have at one time or another been connected with this church. And no, I don't attend this church.
I am so glad to see someone do this. Great song... Seemed like there were mighty rough with the throwing to the ground... I hope she was alright. Great Skit. Great Job. Keep up the good work.
Yeah, that's my step-sister. She came away with some battle scars. Lol. She is okay though. Everything that you see on the video is real. Thank you for your kind comment. We really hope it impacts the life of others. God bless!
