Very well done! It is an interesting way how you solved the visuals with projector on top of the cockpit. I guess you have limited the platform pitch angles to keep the projected image on wall?
Neat electronics. looks very professional and realistic. Great job!
hiya i think i may have asked you this back when you posted the original model but bear with me i forgot D'oh .. i see your using Ians design for th actuator i had trouble gettinng the motor he speced but remeber you saying you had the same problem can i ask what model of motor did you use and was it a geared type -- worm gear -- spur gear etc Cheers
Hi Still Interested in your cockpit frame plans if they will be available i have resurected my Sim which has the same controller card and electronics as supplied by Ian so after a long time decided to get this project going again , seeing your updates was a great insentive -- all the gear in place but tinkering time to get familiar with the software again ---are you still using the SP40 card or have tyou upgraded to Ians SP60 version -- Cgeers
Hi T just a quick question im finally resurecting my project which is only at the moment 2DOF i also have Ians New PCB and software but wanted to ask how you worked out the bubgee cable tension you needed to balance the final cockpit ? i sorta understand why they are fitted instead of say acoil spring but still cant get my head around what tension is required -- when empty does the cockpit rise up and only sinks when fully loaded with pilot ?
brilliant work! I am planning on building a G1000 based sim, and wanted to knwo if you could sell some of the bezels and knobs to me, or a repeat of the mould? this would be a great help, if not, could you point me in the right direction. also, all of the parts, like the switches and encoders etc, where did they come from? cheers!
hiya just checked ,d;oh thought i sent you a replay say would be gratfull for any info regarding your project , sorry about that . either way i can appreciate the amount of work and how time consuming it can be so any titbits as and when you can would be great. once again no Bs oyur work is awesome man nuff said :-)
Hiya just like to say excellent work , trully impressive that you have done this project , i have ian.s interface and hope someday to get to your level , i was impressed by the 1st model but this one takes it to another level ... gotta ask will you be releasing the plans for the cockpit itself , i have the platform stuff and have built my own , but my cockpit is in no way as sleak and well put together as yours , if they are for sale you may have a customer here :-) also the G1000 .
@wannamakeone: Thanks. Always nice to hear of someone appreciating your work. As far as the cockpit plans, I would be wiling to polish them up and sell them to you. The cockpit was not too hard to build if you have a decent woodworking shop with a table saw. The G1000's were a bit harder, and took a lot of work! I am toying with the idea of making a G1000 kit with all the hard parts already made (monitor bezel, circuit boards, etc.). that is in the future though.
Could u show us how to build the G1000 or at least the molds more indeph thanks

Are you able to reprogram the controls so they can work with other games?

Curious where you found 10.4"screens for $40.

Ebay. I used an NEC LCD display. The main boards for the screen were an additional $50/ea

@devonlad108 Just the original buttons cost £170 the Garmin Distro's so try to get replicas if possible. Nothing is cheap in sim land

Hi love the Sim, I am looking for a Cirrus SR 20 side stick. Do you have drawing for this stick - that may be available
possumpalace 1 year ago
@possumpalace I do have some plans for the side stick. They are pretty rough, but I can send them to you. Email me at noble.tyler@gmail.com.

great work with the G1000, how much did it cost to make the g1000 set?
Tomtom793 1 year ago
@Tomtom793 Here is a rough breakdown:
2 x 10.4" NEC screens without bezel = $40
2 x LCD screen motherboard/inverter kit = $120
encoders and buttons = free samples
Silicone and resin = $70
keyboard encoder = $40
Leo Bodnar's BUO836X = $70
software = $49
So I'd say roughly $400. Not bad compared to the $8,000 pricetag some companies want for their G1000 simulatior!
