Wow, I was actually considering selling my ESi-4000 since I purchased Reason 4. I'll certainly be getting this for gigs. What device do you use to load your samples onto the Esi? I use a 2gb JAZ drive, but I have only one disk (out of many) that hasn't read error. I only wish the esi-4000 allowed for internal storage. Thanks for keeping this sampler alive for me!
I assambled CF card reader into my ESI sampler. I have only one 1 GB CF card, but much more than enough me. I suggest it. Before that i used 4GB IBM HDD.
I think in live music this EMU sampler better way than notebook based software.
Is there a sample trigger function in Logic as i have just bought it and not had time to look into all is features. I would like to something like this with Roland's Jazz Scat and Organ Samples in Logic you see. Logic Pro that being. Thanks!
More expensiver and complicated. The EMU sampler is great, rich sounding instrument, included all of the sounds. Not only organ. Professional portable soundcard with 6-8 outputs are very expensive in similar sound quality.
Very Nice Rig!!! Sent you an E-mail requesting more info. Just getting too old and the stages seem to be getting smaller so it's nearly impossible these days to bring my full Size Hammonds to gigs. Love to get your setup for my Ensoniq SD's
I'll give you a good rating cause' you have passion... but nothing equals the REAL thing my friend... you should spend some time restoring a REAL B-3 ;)
Yep I agree with both ya. Nothing is as good as the real thing, but a real one is too heavy and big to get to a gig. And even worse if it is way far away from home. You software is great :-)
Yes, but ten minute is very short time me. Only slow leslie and no vibrated sound is in: 4.38-4.41, 4.45-4.52, 5.26-5,54, 6.25-6.45, 7.00-7.08, 7.34-7.55, 8.01-8.48. No vibrato and acceleraton not yet, sorry :-)
I will make the second demo in near future. Thanks.
How does the SL-161 treat you? It's got great action, but from what I find, it's a little too sensitive (i.e. bad for expressive piano playing). How long has it worked for you?
My B3 running classic 6 pin 122, but three speed. This sampler andMotion Sound running with jack plugs. See the attachement. But converted 11pin are easy.
You mentioned having a cd with the settings for sale. How can I buy one and what will I need to use the settings. I now have a Voce Micro B and an Allesis Nano Piano triggered by a Roland A-33
Great jopb with the samples and the set up. Performance wise I think the always on percussion Iif I understood your description correctly) is a fatal problem. As far as getting a C3 sound without a C3 in a gig you will have serious problems competing with a midi controller running a Native Instruments B4 II simulation on a lap top though (the B4 program does also simulate leslie set up and cabinet. Check it out).
Yes. B4 is good sounding organ simulation, especially the chorus vibrato. But the use is very complicated, must use other tone source for pianos, synths, and all mistake from soft synts: weaker bass, dynamics.
Sound from EMU iron are tight, fat, warm similar as original organ. Easy usable.
I am very impressed. I have tried sampling my 1960 C3 but I don't even come close. My C3 has new valves (toobs) and cap kit. I assume the Leslie sound is the real thing because that is a major component of the overall sound and in your demonstration sound 100% correct.
Sampling right out of the C3 sounds naff, horrid in fact so I guess the Leslie is the main deal here.
I like it. Sounds better than any clone I've heard, including my great sounding XK3. I haven't tried the new XK3c, hopefully they improved the "C3" chorus/vibrato.
Love your style man!

I would also recommend getting a CF card reader, solves the emus storage problems with one silent swipe@ThatsABiggon

Yes, I know. I have real B3's :-) You can see this in my other videos. But very heavy, big.
I can't bring the B3 to my small gigs.
I HAD many clones also, but i don't like these.

I finished the last 2.11 version.
More vibrato, scream, and one more tricky preset. With lower bass-chord preset on complete Jimmy Smith foot bass style.
Only two hands, three manual, complete freq. range.

SL161 send only keys, volume and modulation datas. Prog change from upper A33.
A33 accetable for piano playing, SL161 no. Both excellent for organ. SL161 10y, me 2y.

i dig it! nice work; you seem to know your stuff when it comes to playing an organ, im hoping to get one soon.
ever hear kyle hollingsworth's work on a hammond?

how do u like nord electro 2 clone? i have one and it's quite good.

Not bad sound, but the Key-B/Diversi are more better. Not authentic (onboard and perc. not muted the 1' drawbar), smaller dynamic and range.

lol xD i watched to the end and there's "child in time" so i'll comment again. It's not good job, it;s excellent!

In most of the songs by The Beatles, you can't hear the Organ much (if rarely), but you can if you get the songs in midi format.

Hi. I used some small tricks in sampling, and more major tricks in the sound design/presets programming.
First requirement: the sampler are not only samlped sound player, the sampler is the organ.
The sound are better with Leslie: 147/145/760..., Motion Sound or European leslies (Solton, Elka, Dynacord...), or Leslie effect: Boss RT-20, HK...
Your C3 is excellent, same as A100, B3.
