@jmydizon The rocket explosion and fall at the end of the film was NASA footage of the first Atlas-Centaur test flight in May 1962. Centaur is a rocket stage designed for use as the upper stage of space launch vehicles. Basically, the footage you see was the first (and unsuccessful) test of this particular type of rocket system. The Centaur rocketboosts its satellite payload to geosynchronous orbit or, in the case of an interplanetary space probe, to or near to escape velocity.
@guntherbladderburst WHAT!?!?! that movie is not scary at all! ;) ;) Only if you think landscapes in broad daylight, faces in broad daylight and sunlit rolling clouds are scary ....
that movie should not be hard to find, i will upload the actual clip from the movie, since the music is so much better when it's accompanied with the proper images.
@regger099 Unless you don't find what we do to our own planet scary, what we're doing to ourselves and to any other form of life by destroying everything that is natural around us, scary it is. Of course they show gorgeous landscapes and all, that's the point, you have to watch how we abuse it. The message in itself is quite alarming. You've seen the movie so you know what "koyaanisqatsi" means, right? Life in turmoil, Life out of balance - the message is clear.
@guntherbladderburst at the time the movie was made, climate destabilisation was just a craze. a fad. or so people thought. Corporatism managed to get it from the frontpage, courtesy of the Reagan/Thatcher coupe of the world. We're sadder and wiser now, but not enough that we'd really do something about it. That said, the movie is not really scary in itself. Unless you think all nature documentaries like that one called "Earth", are scary too.
@regger099 Right. Men are too self-centered to really do something about anything anyway.
It's not the movie in itself that is scary, it's what you read between the lines. Nature documentaries aren't necessarily alarming like this one is. The purpose of Planet Earth is to show you nature in its wildest forms, not to show you how men came to destroy everything that is natural because of our unnatural way of living.
This is what I listen to when I creep on girls' Facebook pictures.

i hate to make this sound depressing, but when this song was played in the movie, there was a rocket that exploded, what rocket was that?

this is the music of the future. Sure I like the stuff they make now and play on the radio, but this is just a whole other echelon

I imagine this is what a grand 19th century cathedral would sound like if it was transcribed and expressed as a musical piece...

I can't tell you how much I love this song. The organ, the voices, everything is so well balanced (even though it's not c:).

@leecristo
Good thing Youtube raised the video length limit, although I still can't upload The Grid in one piece.
