nice vid man, i love VQ's, i got a 5 speed DE-K and i realy like 5th gens. But i have a question, my max when i cruise about 70mph the rpm is about 3k and its really high, so whats the rpm on the 6 speed when cruising about 70mph?

Oh man, the wheel hop at 20mph roll kills me when it happens to me. Depending on the weather, i start 20mph roll in second gear, unless it's 60+ degrees out and than i can get full traction in first! Those Mugens are quicker than people think but nice race, if i didn't see the video and herd only the sound i would think i was racing my Maxima cuz it sounds exactly the same. Sweet!

love the sound of the max but go race a si with cai/rh/e haha. i raced a 02 max auto when i had the base manual rsx with only cai and it was dead even..mugen si is heavy as fuck so should have been even..

well i ran an 02 rsx type-s 6spd with intake, i got him by about 4 cars, and that was when i only had an intake. the mugen si i ran in this video would've beat the rsx-s too.

btw, the auto version of my maxima seems like it is a lot slower than the 6spd version.

Oh yeah, any 3.5 max will destroy an rsx, regardless if it's an S model. And yea your right on, the auto max still has 255hp in the engine but loses stupid amount of power to the wheels because it has to displace it among 4 gears instead of a steady 6 gears

auto in maximas are 4 speed, there is big difference between auto and 6 speed in acceleration, especially at higher speeds

That 2-3 shift is the killer, acceleration really drops off right after the shift and doesn't pick up until you get past 80 mph. Just so hard to find a good 6 speed 5.5 gen Maxima so I ended up buying one with an automatic. Still significantly quicker than the V6 626 I had.

the civic surprised me by the way i guess the power weight ratio is really good for the si 197 hp on a light body thats good results im nissan all the way but honestly i dont think a sentra ser spec v can beat it but him racing maxima was the wrong thing to do

hey nice race! I own a mugen si and maybe he missed 3rd cus of a tranny problem, just a possibility because Si transmissions have a faulty 3rd gear problem. Mine is getting fixed soon :D but he could have also just missed it completely. Nice vid!

You need to get headers/Y pipe in a huury plus tune (with VAFCII).

With proper breathing mods you'll leave him like he's standing still. The race should not even be close, even at stock.

and the reason i didn't do so good on the 20mph roll is because i need new tires and i don't have TCS/HLSD. the mugen si has TCS so he had a good start.

A Mugen dosent have near as much torque as a VQ engine and wont spin wheels as much.

This is the VQ35DE engine right sounds like it to me?

yea, 02+ Maxima's only come with the VQ35DE.
