The only way I can imagine such a situation is if something is only a little under powered but very underrated: I say that x is absolutely horrible when x is only just slightly bad. Still, if this situation were the case it doesn't make sense for you to talk about it.

Spanishiwa would be an absolutely terrifying opponent, i cant think of anyone with as much macro skill and the balls to do a 24 supply expand... Not to mention the tactics to be slapping down a suprise nydus while under attack

umm 16 is not the magic number of drones..3 per patch 8 patches normally in main and nat. expo =24... on a 6 patch expo like gold or something itd be 18 but idk when it would be 16
@anthonywhistler 3 per mineral patch is actually over-saturating it and there is wasted time with the drones waiting around and trying to find other open patches. You are better off moving the excess workers off to another expansion when that happens. It's been hammered into our heads over the past decade to over-saturate with 3 per patch, but it isn't as effective as an expansion with 2 per patch. Plus, you get the extra early larva from another hatchery, which is essential to the build.
Those spines at 7.42 are there to, I think, soak up some damage. They are also immune to FF. So even though they don't finish, they still looked to me like they helped quite a bit.
great casting, i enjoyed how insightful your comments were.. not a huge fan of pausing during the game.. maybe go back to those parts after the match if you want to analyze them =] just my 2 cents

Really really liked the commentary, it had a very different focus compared too other sc2 casters. Functioning more as a sort of post game analysis, having seen the game first yourself and even interviewing one of the players, served as incredibly useful insight on how top tier players play to the strengths and weaknesses
their respective races. Pausing the game to discuss an important/unique decision in game is a particularily useful tool, which many casters could make better use of.
Simple things such as changing/managing waypoints, effective scouting, and unit management amongst other topics are also be very interesting to hear about, so long as they are kept concise (which was no issue). I really hope you are able to cast more games in a similar style to this game, was entertaining and informative, subbed!
we have a good zerg player vs a toss who doesn't deserve even platinum status (funny how only their pts were mentioned) - but seriously pylon block? which zerg doesn't know how to deal with that crap now? joke of a toss player proceeds to build late core, expand later, makes a joke of a push when it fails he also fails to send 3 WORKERS to destroy unhidden nydus. @aston7villa7 Actions Per Minute. It registers for every click, hotkey, build etc that you make. There's a common misconception that high APM makes you a better player. In some cases that's true. But high APM can be achieved by click spamming, which is in fact wasteful and inefficient and should only be attempted in a high micro battle.
I suggest you look at day9tv look for daily #252 which will show you the secrets of hotkeys, APM and Movement. It's over an hour, but essential viewing.

wait a min cricket, subbed btw. i like the commentary but i think you made a mistake when it comes to the "magic number" of drones/scv/probes per base. The optimal number is 30, (24 on minerals, 3 per patch) 3 on each geyser. keep up the good casts
@nilocolin24 the magic number is between 16 and 24. 2 harvesters mine at the same time on one mineral field while one drone is moving back and forth - that comes down to roughly 2.5 workers per field.
@nilocolin24 30 is considered complete saturation not necessarily the most efficient. If you had 32 workers, put 30 on one base, and 2 on the other you're not going to mine as efficient as say 16 per base. It's much more efficient to be mining evenly at all bases.
I'm only bronze, so my opponents are likewise, but I love getting cannon contained. As long as you deny them sight of the high ground and micro queens/roaches, you can snipe everything they put down there, and they dump a ton of resources while neglecting their own base. I take the opportunity to drone, tech to lair, mass roaches, and nydus their main and/or grab hidden expos.
I almost turned this off early because I thought Cricket's voice was annoying, but he mentioned it was the last game of a tournament and I stuck around and he totally won me over. He seemed too laid back at first, but the excitement was definitely there once the game got rolling.
You know what sucks about all this. I am building a new computer to play SC2 and I sit here and watch these in my free time. Damit I need to hurry up and build my system so that I can move out off theory and get into practical applications. This was a great cast.
@HeiligZorn if toss rushed with zealots zerg wouldn't have droned up and not gotten the third so early. and you only need 1 or 2 drones to deny a cannon rush as long as u don't get walled off you can get lings out fast enough to kill the probe and then the pylon before anything finishes building.

@HERO dude, i understand why people do not enjoy watching ads, they are overwhelmingly EVERYWHERE, i drive to work, see ads everywhere, try to listen to the radio, ads every 10 minutes, watching tv, every 10 minutes, now i cant even get on a public site that was my one free escape from it all, and enjoy my life without the pressure and annoyance of people trying to sell me something (example) i know that people are trying to make money, but they shouldnt have put up videos counting on that

@ankstroms you have a small brain. of course he should count on that its more than half the reason people post vids of this quality make intros and start websites supporting their content. and as far as pressure goes thats stupid to say there is no pressure from your computer you just wait for it to go away and watch the vid of x out of it. theres no pressure you cant buy anything you dont want to buy from your home. and you guys complain about 1 ad on an eleven minute cast? are u that weak?

wait a min cricket, subbed btw. i like the commentary but i think you made a mistake when it comes to the "magic number" of drones/scv/probes per base. The optimal number is 30, (24 on minerals, 3 per patch) 3 on each geyser. keep up the good casts

@nilocolin24 the magic number is between 16 and 24. 2 harvesters mine at the same time on one mineral field while one drone is moving back and forth - that comes down to roughly 2.5 workers per field.

@nilocolin24 30 is considered complete saturation not necessarily the most efficient. If you had 32 workers, put 30 on one base, and 2 on the other you're not going to mine as efficient as say 16 per base. It's much more efficient to be mining evenly at all bases.

I'm only bronze, so my opponents are likewise, but I love getting cannon contained. As long as you deny them sight of the high ground and micro queens/roaches, you can snipe everything they put down there, and they dump a ton of resources while neglecting their own base. I take the opportunity to drone, tech to lair, mass roaches, and nydus their main and/or grab hidden expos.

I almost turned this off early because I thought Cricket's voice was annoying, but he mentioned it was the last game of a tournament and I stuck around and he totally won me over. He seemed too laid back at first, but the excitement was definitely there once the game got rolling.

You know what sucks about all this. I am building a new computer to play SC2 and I sit here and watch these in my free time. Damit I need to hurry up and build my system so that I can move out off theory and get into practical applications. This was a great cast.

But what if the protoss rushed with zealots? The zerg would onlyhave lings to defend and would be in trouble.
Plus, I got my hatchery denied by cannons a couple times, what is the amount of drones I'll have to use to deny a cannon's summoning?

@HeiligZorn Not sure the exat number of drones, but he couldnt get zealot rushed, he went forge first and expended minerals on the pylons.

@HeiligZorn if toss rushed with zealots zerg wouldn't have droned up and not gotten the third so early. and you only need 1 or 2 drones to deny a cannon rush as long as u don't get walled off you can get lings out fast enough to kill the probe and then the pylon before anything finishes building.
