This painting is called "Resistance at the Threshold" by Bill Stoneham...he painted it as a follow up to "The Hands Resist Him" after he had heard that the first painting in the series was supposedly haunted...both the little boy in the first painting and the old man in the second painting are Bill Stoneham, one him as a child, the other him at the time he produced this painting...
