D'après ce que j'avais compris, Gringoire n'est pas amoureux d'Emeralda, bien qu'ils soient mariés. Elle ne représentait qu'une inspiration pour lui, de part sa beauté. (Il dit lui-même, qu'il n'est pas homme à femme). Or, Gringoire dit "avoir rencontré un ange" qu'il a essayé de "suivre". Dit comme cela, n'aurait-il pas une certaine attirance, du même type que Frollo, pour elle?

Quelqu'un saurait m'éclairer sur la relation entre Gringoire et Esmeralda, telle qu'elle est décrite dans le livre?

@Dardon11 Si je me rappelle bien, dans le livre, Gringoire la trouve très belle effectivemment. Mais il ne souhaite pas plus d'elle. Il dit d'elle que c'est un ange, mais ce n'est pas forcément une preuve d'attirance !

A part le fait que sa beauté peut être source d'inspiration pour sa création poétique (et encore, lorsqu'ils sont en présence l'un de l'autre, il est agacé par sa naiveté et par la manière dont elle se comporte), il est assez indifférent à elle et à ce qu'elle représente. Il est plus attaché à Djalil qu'à Esmeralda d'ailleurs haha.

D'ailleurs à la fin du livre il n'hésite pas à l'abandonner complètement à son sort.

However, in the book Gringoire is a romantic character - and in the play he is a story-teller, who doesn't act as a Esmeralda's admirer.
