Hey I respect Audi for trying to make a decent supercar, yet they failed and made a cheap plastic gallardo powered egg.Lexus was working on the LF-A for 10 years and made a total success from it, it wasn't built for top end speed it was supposed to be a luxury exotic with the capabilities of a top end all out supercar. I'd like to start by saying, that I'm a fan of mostly call cars, such as the LFA, R8, SLR, and ZR1. But....... I'm sorry to bust every R8, SLR, ZR1 fan's balls.... but the LFA is by far WAY better than those cars, not talking about 0-60. That doesn't mean anything. I do love speed, but speed is not always the answer. Plus, the LFA looks stunning, really reliable; it's not plastic like "those" cars which most pleople would know which, and it's well engineered. Masterpiece, end of story fools.

If you want to compare the LFA to something in its league, you have to go Ferrari 599 or 458 or McLaren MP4-12C or Lamborghni Aventaor. The LFA has terrible shift times, bad brakes. It sits so low to the ground it could never be used on the street. And it's gawd awful ugly. The LFA bring NOTHING new to the table. Only the Panamera and the X6 are uglier.

If you are talking about the 626HP model, that car is slow, it gets beat in a straight line and around a track by a 550 HP Ford GT. Honestly, some people do care about the overall quality of their supercar. @nissan7201985: HP to weight ratio is more important than HP alone. But anyway, the SLR MCLaren is actually rated at 617 HP and 575 ft lbs. of torque. The Ford GT was rated at 550HP and 500 ft. lbs of torque. The SLR has more torque. And keep in mind we are talking about the Ford GT, not the GT40. The GT40 was the race car from the 60s.

That's called poor time management with their engineers, there is no way the parts themselves cost 400k per car, but it probably spent too much time in the design process, making the amount paid to the designers too close to call it a profit margin.

And because it is no legal to drive a car on the street, my answer is P1000 Switzer Nissan GTR, a car accelerates much faster than a Llegendes FXX almost 2 seconds from 0-60 mph and a lot cheaper and more effective track. @nissan7201985 the parts are japonese, but the r33 JUN yelow bird is fast. The gtr 2012 stock is more faster than f458 and GTO 599 in top gear, the fxx is more faster beacause have slick tires.
the gtr is the best in the world, 4 seats, 4wd, now the reability is exelent, the quality is like INFINITI, easy tuning engine, the best grip, beast acceleration 3 secons 0-60mph, good car for the city, the MPG is normal, the equipament is exelent, 5 stars in EURO NCAP AND CHEAP!!!

I'd like to start by saying, that I'm a fan of mostly call cars, such as the LFA, R8, SLR, and ZR1. But....... I'm sorry to bust every R8, SLR, ZR1 fan's balls.... but the LFA is by far WAY better than those cars, not talking about 0-60. That doesn't mean anything. I do love speed, but speed is not always the answer. Plus, the LFA looks stunning, really reliable; it's not plastic like "those" cars which most pleople would know which, and it's well engineered. Masterpiece, end of story fools.

@MrPMoney92 All of the cars you compared the LFA to cost HALF as much as the LFA. If you want to compare the LFA to something in its league, you have to go Ferrari 599 or 458 or McLaren MP4-12C or Lamborghni Aventaor. The LFA has terrible shift times, bad brakes. It sits so low to the ground it could never be used on the street. And it's gawd awful ugly. The LFA bring NOTHING new to the table. Only the Panamera and the X6 are uglier.

It's far from a masterpiece. It's kinda slow. Plus it looks hideous.

If you are talking about the 626HP model, that car is slow, it gets beat in a straight line and around a track by a 550 HP Ford GT. Honestly, some people do care about the overall quality of their supercar. I'd never pay nearly 400 grand for a car that has a plastic center console in it regardless of how much money i have or how fast the car is.

@nissan7201985: The reason why I say the SLR is slow because its got 626HP a nurburgring lap time of 7:40 secs. The Ford GT had 550HP and a nurburgring lap time of 7:40.6 secs. Something just doesnt seem right there does it?

@V8Supercar1 just because you have more horsepower doesnt mean you should have a faster track time. in a track such as nurburing you need torqu as well to pull yourself out of the turns faster. most of these cars never even reach max speeds so horsepower is just one of many factors. not the only one. if you base all your ideas on how much horsepower a car has then your an idiot. the gt40 is an extremely small and lightweight car compared to an slr thus its power to weight is better

@nissan7201985: HP to weight ratio is more important than HP alone. But anyway, the SLR MCLaren is actually rated at 617 HP and 575 ft lbs. of torque. The Ford GT was rated at 550HP and 500 ft. lbs of torque. The SLR has more torque. And keep in mind we are talking about the Ford GT, not the GT40. The GT40 was the race car from the 60s.

Honestly I don't know why anyone is arguing over the VALUE of the LFA... It is overpriced for what it is. Given the SOUND, and the LOOK. Performance wise the ZR1 Does it for 1/5 the price. But some people buy cars for more than performance, some buy it for name ( not this time ie. lexus = toyota ) and status, and to those people. Shouldn't be on here arguing stats and ratings; leave that to the car enthusiasts...

And I think the main reason why people are still arguing this point, is because this video benchmarks on a car that costs a fraction of the LFA. That's like taking the Veyron against a California. Doesn't make a good comparison. Makes it feel Cheap... RIGGED even.

That's called poor time management with their engineers, there is no way the parts themselves cost 400k per car, but it probably spent too much time in the design process, making the amount paid to the designers too close to call it a profit margin.
Do you honestly believe they will use any worthy percent of information gained in this endeavor make the 2013 Camry?
Also I wouldn't go around saying it's reliable just yet.

VTEC was introduced in the Intergras first, and it wasn't developed with racing or even performance in mind, it was a rudimentary engine management system, designed to make cars more efficient.
This still doesn't explain the cost. Which is the issue.
