@volumematrix The video already exists on every new Mac... the issue is that there is no sound. But that's ok because the song is also located on the computer. All you have to do is put the two together. It's a pretty simple task in any video editor. I just used iMovie since that came with the Mac :)

@volumematrix You could use it but it'll be limited in what sort of textual video effects it offers unfortunately. I doubt it'll fulfil your needs. In that case I would have to recommend something like Apple's Final Cut Pro suite or something from Adobe's Creative Suite. Those 2 will do what you want and so much more but they are very hard to get your head around... Luckily there's plenty of help pages on the web! Let me know how you go :)

@KimikoLPS4ever sorry I never noticed your comment until just now... Go into the "/System/Library/CoreServices" folder and control-click on "Setup Assistant". Click on "Show Package Contents".

In the package, go into the "Contents" folder and then the "Resources" folder. Control-click on "TransitionSection.bundle" and click on "Show Package Contents".

Again, go into the "Contents" folder and then the "Resources" folder.

You'll find the "intro-sound.mp3" and "intro.mov" files there.

I have been using a mac for a long time and I HAVE LOVED IT!!. Then i booted my mac to windows xp... BIG DIFFERENCE. Windows looks like crap compared to mac. And then on startup they brag that Windows looks sleek and stylish with its startup, all it is is a blue screen with white text. I have never had an error with a mac, and after less than an hour of using windows I GET A BLUE SCREEN! Windows sucks!

Yes, but it wouldn't be perfect... it would only play after you log in.

1. Combine the audio and video (or download this video) so that they will play together. Use iMovie for this.

2. Create an Automator application dedicated to playing the video.

3. Set the Automator application so that it plays when you log in.

I don't think there's any other way to do it...

Awesome! Been searching for a long time for the location of this video on my machine, and I found it. Start Finder, select the menu option Go to Folder and put in "/System/Library/CoreServices/­Setup Assistant.app/Contents/Resourc­es/" without quotes. The intro movie and sound are two sepparate files, namely "intro.mov" and "intro-sound.mp3". Hope this helps anyone. :)
