They are not earmarked in any way." No 'trust fund'. Taxes go into the 'pot' and then money is doled out. Private accts would be better.

Ron Paul will dismantle Social Security and Medicare as well as end all Veteran's Benefits. Those who paid into Social Security and Medicare for decades, many of whom also fought in the military in past wars, are having the budget balanced on their struggling backs. Many will be left indigent, hungry, homeless, and without any substantial medical care. They will simply wither and die after contributing so much to the systems that Ron Paul will eliminate as President. Think twice, vote once!

@kimmykum1 SS and Medicare are not Constitutional amendments. Actually, FICA taxes are just that: TAXES. We are hoodwinked into thinking them "benefits". There is no SS trust fund. At least one old case, around the time of the SS act (post-1935), has a quote something like, "they [the taxes] are paid into the Treasury as internal revenue collections. They are not earmarked in any way." No 'trust fund'. Taxes go into the 'pot' and then money is doled out. Private accts would be better.

@kimmykum1 The system is already out of money. Do you believe peoples $ they paid in is still there and we're 15 trillion in debt?? Dr. Paul has said he wants to end foreign spending so that in the near future people who are "dependent on the system" will still recieve their benefits. You only need to look at Europe to see where we're headed : austerity! The system has to change!! With no income tax people would be able to set aside for their retirement.That requires "personal responsibility"

Not really. We just moved them into Kuwait for when we attack Iran for no reason. And we replaced them in Iraq with more mercenaries. Our government likes mercenaries, because mercenaries allow them to commit atrocities and war crimes, but make it look like they're not committing atrocities and war crimes.
Plus they moved them out like a week before the end of 2011. I don't think that really counts.
