Personally I have quite thick, glossy, curly hair so I don't really need to do this because, it would just make it OVER-volumized, unless I straightned it, but I prefer my hair curly! ;) But my best friend has thin straight hair and she's always using all these products and stuff trying to make it more volumized, but now if I show her this, I'm sure it will help her a lot! -and save her a lot of money on her products too.. The crown of your head has short hair, so there's definitely going to be volume. Use a wider straightener and this process will take a few minutes. Good demo though.

@annaDANCEDx The technique she's using IS basically "curling" your hair. If you didn't notice, her shortest layers don't go past her shoulders.

"Your hair cut influences it aswell so if you have longer hair, you will not get as high a lift as hair with layers."

I would suggest for longer layers or longer hair to straighten your hair up off your head (lifting roots) without curving the straightener (much). Of course, I can't guarantee it'll work. It works a little for me.

@Evithido Actually, this doesn't work on all hair types. I did not click dislike but I know it doesn't work for my hair. I have a lot of hair but it is fine hair and in 1/2 hour, it will be flat. Even before I saw this video I tried this... it is not about how thick or thin your hair is but it is all about texture and this doesn't work on all textures.

@Evithido My point is while I (and probably some people like me) realize that it doesn't work for their hair type and just ignore it, some other people will quickly hit the "dislike" button because it doesn't work on their hair. Also bubzbeauty mentioned a few times that it works on many hairs or all kinds of hair (or something to that effect) so some people can essentially say "no it doesn't work on mine" and hit the dislike button.
