  • Did the Harts get the titles back again? Was this before or after wrestlemania 3?

  • @auspunk79 this was before wrestlemania 5.

  • @auspunk79 -This was in October of 1987 after Wrestlemania 3. It aired in November of 1987

  • It just seemed so much more exciting back in the late 80's, maybe it was just because I was 10, but I look back at the classic matches from then & they still stand up as being great

  • That crowd went apeshit lol

  • I was there live for this match. Syracuse, NY - October 27, 1987. I was just a little kid and it was the first title change I ever saw live. It's one of those things that I will never forget.

  • I remember seeing strike force very shortly after this match in duluth, mn. Oh my god was this team a big deal. Back then wwf would come to Duluth probably 3-4 times a year and my did would take me every time. To this day I still don't understand why strikeforce was not around for a very long time. It seems they pretty much split after loosing the titles.

  • He didnt even tap out!

  • @MrDan1812 Tapping out is just a non-verbal way of saying "I Quit". Either Neidhart actually said he quit or the official asked if he wanted to continue and Neidhart didn't respond (ala Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13).

  • @MCWAY1 Thanks! i never knew it!

  • "HERE ARE YOUR WINNERS, AND NEEEWWWWWW WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! (I think Howard "The Fink" Finkel should have pattened that the way Micheal Buffer patented the "LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!"

...... watching this gave me chills, took me back to my youth...when tag team wrestling was an art and not a freak show

  • LISTEN TO THE RESPONSE FROM THIS CROWD YOU DON'T HEAR THAT THESE DAYS . BRING THOSE GREAT MATCHES BACK TO WWE AND TNA

  • @MrBigbootychaser Bruh, the response Strike Force received when they won the titles from the Hart Foundation sent chills up and down my spines. The response was just unbelievable. Listen to that pop. You don't hear pops like that today in professional wrestling when you watch TNA and WWE. The pop Strike Force got at the end of this match was just unreal.

  • @lildwayne21 YES YES MAN ! I CHECKED OUT YOUR PAGE GREAT CHOICE OF LEGEND WRESTLERS AND LEGEND TEAMS

  • GREAT MATCH . YES YES YES YES !

  • AWSOME MATCH!!!!

  • Absolutely NO reason for them to blur out the Superstars of Wrestling logos

  • the title changed hands on local tv i remember

  • @kolense

Yes it did. This match was part of a television taping. I saw it on the old Wrest;ing Challenge with Gorila Monsoon and Bobby Heenan. However for this match they took it directly from the Superstars of wrestling which this was a taping for. It aired on Wrestling Challenge the weekend of November 7, 1987. It was taped October 27, 1987.

  • Damn the crowds popped so much back then. Not just for the title win but look how over Strike Force was in their intro and every time they made their comeback. I think the internet permanently killed those kinds of one sided reactions.

  • That is one the biggest crowds title change reaction I ever seen.

  • I miss Jesse Ventura's commentary.

"Look's like the referee paused before the three count"

    SUch good heel work!

  • The fans treated Strike Force winning the belts like Rocky beating Apollo. Wrestling will never be this good again.

  • @TheRedWaltz24 i remeber this fight watching it with mu cousins i agree with you rocky beating apollo those were teh good old dys

  • Thanks Mr. WWE 24/7 for posting this...I always wonder when Strike Force won the belts.

  • lol

  • I think the hart foundation only beat about 5 or so different tag teams and lost about as many matches as they won. this era of wwf tag team had no dominate team but they just passed the belts around.

  • @TheShootTruth10

Ummmmm, except for Demolition, who I believe still hold the record for the longest tag title reign?

  • @fagbert 689 days.

  • @TheShootTruth10

Exactly, they were a dominant team all right.

  • Thank God Johnny Vallient wasn't workin with Bruno Sammartino.

  • Ventura is a cunt motherfucker asshole cocksucker dickhead sonofabitch

  • BOY DO I MISS THOSE DAYS

I wanna just eat Froot Loops and watch wrestling on Saturday mornings again

  • glad i got to see this live, right near my hometown in syracuse ny......wish they had some good teams now like stirke force, the harts, the bulldogs and demolition...these are the good ole days

  • Man when he got the hot tag Martel could really go...

  • Tito, Tito, Tito.

  • great video

  • Strike Force 4 Lyfe

  • Ah, I remember watching this match as a young mark and almost peeing myself - I actually got to see a title change! The good ol' days.

  • @tnpir I loved this moment too, until Tom Zenk's shoot interview about his time in the WWF. According to Zenk, him and Martel were supposed to get a run with the titles from late-July until the Dec 87/Jan 88 when they would drop the titles to Demolition. Also, if Zenk could be believed, he mentioned that Bret and Jim could'nt wait to drop the belts because there was no extra money that came with holding the belts and the road schedule was more grueling.

  • Bret Hart is one funny ass heel character! He's very sadistic!

  • At a time when you didn't know who was going to win. Now, it's so predictable! Bring back the good old days.

  • Nobody does the Boston Crab better than Rick Martel

  • the day's of good wrestling no shoots or kaybe face no soap opera story lines when u had to actually tune in the next week to see what happens without already knowing no ppv every month with the same wrestlers going for a title i can't beleive that some of the same wrestlers i grew up watching book and write the garbage wrestling that come on t.v. now

  • I remember watching this too, I was like "WHOA Strike Force just won the tag belts from the Harts!" it was TOTALLY unexpected but pretty neat as well:-D At the time, it was awesome seeing the then-despised Hart Foundation losing the tag belts, & on WWF Superstars no less:-)

  • I was 9 years old and saw this match live in Syracuse NY. That place went crazy when they won the belts. It was really loud. We had no idea the titles were changing hands that night.

  • i wish they had another run

  • I remember being elated when Strike Force won the belts, because it was a thrilling way to be the hated Hart Foundation! But it was bittersweet because the Killer Bees were really the better team at the time!

  • @anasella3 The Killer Bees were bums. Young Stallions deserved it more!

  • @ReddFoxxPunxx young stallions? really? how about the american males as tag champions perhpas??

  • @jckoby Dude...Paul Roma was a Horsemen....nuff said. And Jim Powers...he was in the AWF...Nuff said! Hahaha.

  • what a match

  • hahahah i forgot the heart foundation were hells (baddies) hahaha

  • It was sinful then, and it's sinful now!

  • Ahhhhh. When titles and title changes actually meant something. I miss those days.

  • @ScaredStiffTV right!!!

  • ahhhhh the good old days

  • I just find it interesting that on the 'Superstars of Wrestling' banners, the words 'of Wrestling' are blurred... why?

  • This was when wrestling was cool..now it just plain sucks

  • i like at the end too where tito just kicks bret out of the ring, literally, was a great day for those fans, the energy in there must have been great

  • i love strike force, they are my all time favorite combo. rick martel is one of the greats and they both deserve to be in the hall

  • This title change seems so much more exciting than the ones we see today. Also, it's pretty cool to see Martel beat Neidhart with the same move that cost him the AWA World title.

  • I remember this match as one of the highlights of spending every saturday morning watching wrestling. You never thought you'd see any title change hands much less your favorite tag team beat those even canuck harts for it.

On a side note, couldn't the cameraman have avoided the several closeups of Chico's taint during the match while he's getting beat up? The mostly male audience really didn't need that.

  • this was sat.nite main events!!! i remember it watching it live on channel 5 fox station..

  • At that point of my life I didn't know sat am shows were rerunning old matches...it felt live to me. It hadn't occurred to me that they probably weren't getting macho man up at 9am to cut a promo half-hungover.

  • hahahahahahahahha

  • at 3:40 the commentator claims the hart foundation will stoop to anything to retain the titles, but in real life they were very happy to drop the responsibility of holding the belts and its not so enticing financial compensation

  • @3stanthony Bret and Jim held the titles longer than they wanted to because of Zenk's sudden departure. The plan was for Bret and Jim to drop the titles to Rick and Tom in July 1987 and have them run with the titles until December 87/January 88 where Rick and Tom would drop them to Demolition.

  • @SheriffTankStoner Thanks for the correction, i hope Rick does not get angry with me for slandering him and put me in the Quebec crab

  • Strike Force had such a gay entrance theme.

  • Nothing said eighties wrestling like "Girls in Cars"! And since I recently found the song on Limewire, I guess it proves I wasn't the only person who bought Piledriver!

  • Are you kidding me? I SO bought Piledriver back in the day! I'm looking like crazy for the 1987 Slammys...I missed it back in '87 and it just sounds like such fun 80's wrestling schlock!

  • It was SO 1980's..

  • the non-lyrics version is better than the lyrics version. With the lyrics...it's just so cheesy

  • Let's hear for the gay guys!!!...I mean the good guys!!!

  • Classic match, ty for uploading D

  • This title change really came out of nowhere, didn't it?

  • Yeah, it really did. I remember sitting down watching and I figured it was going to be more dirty tricks by the HF but he submitted and I was pleasantly surprised.

  • Of course it did. That's cause this is way before smart-marks and the internet ruined surprises in wrestling.

  • Why is is when the Hart Foundation loses, it is always Neidhart who is either pins or submits?

  • this was when tag team wrestling was at its best...i mean from the 80's till about 92...not like the nonsense they have now...i remember watching this on sunday night..btw neidhart gave up pretty quick didnt he?

  • I hope the WWE makes The History Of The World Tag Team Championship, 3 Disc set. This match would be in Disc 1.

  • I agree...I would love to see a 3-Disc set on the history of the World Tag Titles....Tag Team wrestling used to be an art form, nowadays it's non-existent

  • great match remember when the wwe had a tag team division not only did they have tag teams to fill that division they had a lot of good ones

  • @thebazzman100 They had so many there was actually talk on and off about creating an I-C tag title.

  • Wow, that crowd went bananas for Strike Force. There's something great about a crowd being so into the good guys like that.

  • @geekrebellion The other thing that helped was the fact that everyone truly hated the Hart Foundation.

  • @clergymen19 That's b/c they beat the Bulldogs....and we all LOVED Dynamite! Truly one of a kind at the time.

  • @geekrebellion And Strike Force was as goodie 2 shoes as you could get. Thing is,the crowd respected them(especially Santana, who many felt should have been in the main event at that time). This was back when, for the most part, McMahon actually listened to what the fans wanted. Sucks for Tom Zenk, since he quit.

  • I remember this match on a saturday morning. By the date is was my 9th birthday. I remember being so excited by the upset because i was still pissed about the Bulldogs getting screwed out of the belts! Ahh, the good old days of wrestling.

  • Same here I almost fell outta my chair when the title changed hands since the Saturday morning shows were mainly squash matches with jobbers

  • I know it. I was just a little kid during this era, but it didn't take long to realize that you weren't going to see many title changes (much less big matches) on Sat and Sun morning TV. I was pretty surprised but I thought it was pretty awesome.

  • This is the best Trio. SuperStar Billy Graham, Jesse Ventura, and Mr. McMahon. The best comintaries. Also Bobby Heenan is # 1.

  • It was Bruno Sammartino, not Billy Graham (though Billy Graham did some occasional commentating during this era).

  • Joey Marella (Gorilla Monsoon's son) screws Bret...

Martel was the excellent of execution in this match....and Bruno Sammartino with the call

  • Wasn't the move at 2:00 Demolition's finisher later on?

  • This wasn't on Prime Time Wrestling, this originally happened on Superstars of Wrestling, the WWF's saturday show in the 80s.

  • Great Job finding this clip. Strike Force was a good team during the 80s, but the Hart Foundation got beat a little too easily. Double Body slam into the Boston Crab? Come on, Neidhart was tougher than that!

  • That was a mean reversal into the turnbuckle by Chico.

I forgot all about this match. Before I pressed play, I assumed the Harts would retain the title.

    Great match!

  • great match

  • Strike Force's music is so gay! good match though

  • Ah I remember this match well, especially the ending.

I said it in the 1st part and I will say it again: this is when tag team wrestling was at its best. And don't get me started with the current status of WWE and TNA's tag team divisions right now. Seriously.

  • I totally agree, back in these days Tag Teams like the Foundation and Demolition, Road Warriors, The Midnight and Rock N' Roll Expreses etc. were just as big in tag teams as Hogan or Savage or the Snake was in singles. NOW, A tag team is consisted of normally a couple guys that just can't get over period OR a couple guys like Cena and Rey or something that don't need the pish...pathetic

  • Hahahaha! CHICO!

  • Yeah Martel could it all and hes one of my top ten of all time. I also found it thios kinda ironic. In the 80's, there were an average of 2-3 TOTAL title changes per year. Now its an average of 10-15, this includes the 'tag team, world and intercontinental, as well as the U.S.Title

  • how is that ironic? its because there is more tv time that's about it. and things are booked on the fly 20 years ago they knew when HF won they'd be losing it in 9 months to a certain face team.

  • true but the point i was trying to make was that all those titles have been somewhat diluted, with sometimes a belt going to a guy who basically doesnt deserve to hold atitle.

  • If you look at the 5:15 mark and under the rope the Fink signals to the timekeeper to ring the bell.

  • That was Mark Eaton

  • Martel could do it all, brawl, mat wrestling, high flying stuff. they could have promoted him as some super-fighter

  • santana and martel broke up as strike force in wrestlemania 5 when they were against the brainbusters after santana accidentally drop kicked martel

  • Actually, Tito hit Rick with the flying forearm.

  • I found it Ironic that Martel won it with a boston-crab. He lost the AWA title to Stan Hansen with the same boston crab. This match also gave Santana's career a little push, giving him another world title

  • I loved it when it happened!

  • Martel will spray you with some "Arrogance"!

  • does anyone have footage of strike force break up???

  • Wrestlemania V

  • no hotdog fart pin..

  • Does anybody have any house show matches between these two teams?

  • look at jim hes a ox he must have an 60inch chest

  • what the heck tito turned heel?

  • what Foundation were the heels Martel was face

  • This is one of my all-time favorite tag-team matches. The pop at the end of this match is spine-chilling

  • I was 10 years old and hated the Hart Foundation with a passion! I will never forget this match on WWF Superstars that Saturday afternoon. This was the first time I ever saw a title change hands. The Killer Bees defeated the Harts that summer but it was a non-title bout.

  • In my opinion Wrestling in the 80's marked the Golden Age for the Tag Team Divison.

  • I remember really hating the Hart Foundation back in those days and really cheering for Strike Force. In retrospect the H.F. was a awesome tag team who played the heel role to perfection.

  • i used to have martels first wwf figurine. i thought it was the best thing ever.

  • i remember being so excited about this!! i went outside celebrating as everybody knew the tag team titles had finally changed. wow man title changes actually meant something back in those days.

  • That's true ... title changes meant something back then because wrestler's held their titles longer! Now a days a title change happens every other match!

  • The Anvil was crazy!! YEAH, BABY!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!

  • my first favorite tag team...then the Road Warriors took over in 88 for me and it was over and done with from there

  • This was the first title change I ever saw myself. I remember jumping up and down all excited. My best friend's older brother was a heel's fan and later that day, I was giving it to him.

  • I just watched this for the first time since it first aired. One of my favorite wrestling moments of my childhood.

  • Hart Foundation the best team ever.this is the first wwf match i ever saw.best post ever!

  • Thankyou to whoever uploaded this video,I New,that that Strike Force had won the Tag Titles from The HartFoundation,I had just never ben able to see it.
