    Don't focus on money, focus on learning how to create content and a following. But like Ryan says get going now. Google will not see your blog as real until you have 10 posts so get started now and find your blogging voice.

    As far as the platform I prefer Blogger because it comes with Friend Connect by default now. You won't be able to add FB or GFC gadgets on other platforms and both these can be good traffic builders.
