People didn't realize that Otis could sing all the notes when required and could harmonize and fill in anywhere except for bass. I've always had the hardest time finding David in the background harmony, but he always had that operatic range that many people didn't know about, so i suspect he was up there just floating on top, probably next to Eddie. Everybody could find their notes or keys from Eddie and Paul, especially Eddie...his falsetto/tenor was so distinctive and pure....Tempts 4ever.!
All Otis Williams needed was a little vocal training to be a lead singer, and he would've be more than just the "last surviving original member of the Temptations."
I didn't realize Otis could sing so well! You had David, Eddie, Melvin, Dennis, all tearing it up!! They were all Mega voices! I love "The Minuet" in this song! One of my MANY favorite songs from THE BEST R&B Group of all times!!!!
yeah....this is a jewel.....Otis singing lead...and soundin' reeeeeeeeal good -- very smooth and soulful..........and check out Melvin (the baritone') leading on "I TRULY BELIEVE"....we used to swing OUTTTT !! on that one.
