  • Brian Fallon Joe strummer and mike ness my musical dream world...

  • this is actually cover of the Afghan Whig's version of "Lost in the Supermarket" - they incorporated "Train in Vain" in theirs as well

  • I came to youtube in order to find a live version from The Clash, but got all lost in this version. Great cover!

  • Beautiful.

  • I think I'm in love. This just made my life. I just got a tattoo for a packet of tea for Joe. The Gaslight Anthem and The Clash. What more could a girl ask for?

  • Joe Strummer wrote a beautiful song and now two different singers have made it into a classic that I love. Love Mick Jones and Brian Fallon.

  • I just found out that the original wasn't eve song by Joe Strummer...Mick Jones sang it its time to re-evaluate my life lol

  • Does anyone know what guitar he is playing?

  • @AbandonedAllHope Vintage Gibson L50, more than likely from the 1940s. I think 1943 but I'm not totally sure, they sell for about 1,500 now. Very hard to find one in good condition.

  • Ohh, I liked how he brought in a few lines from "Train in Vain" as well. Fucking love The Clash and Brian Fallon is magnificent, as always. :D

  • 2 great bands

  • I heard the people who lived on the ceiling

    Scream and fight most scarily!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love Brian Fallon and Gaslight Anthem. This cover is great!

  • shame he gets the lyrics wrong

  • my fav. clash song covered by my favorite band haha awesome

  • Joe and Brain and Bruce are my fav front men and dis is brilliant he would of fit in the clash easy

  • @itabuttrose who's brain?

  • @TheGeorgieBoi Wanker, i think you know who he means? grow up

  • @gbsperka blimey!! cheer up mate

  • Any idea on the chords on this? The tabs Ive seen have this in E, but I dont see Brain even come close to that chord shape.

  • @shitcanhappen Brian changes the chord progressions when he does covers, he did the same thing on Songs for Teenagers by Fake Problems. He's doing the progression from the chorus of Meet me by the River's Edge, which is R, 6, 4, R/5, which in this key is Cmaj, Aminor, F (he puts in the sus2), Cmaj (it's cool if you flick on the sus4 just before you change chords), and G. It's a blast to play, have fun with it!

  • Brian can cover any song ever made and make it even better than the orginal!

  • when i saw the video on my home page i knew i was gunna like it

  • i'm crying. keep on rockin' bro. long live Joe Strummer, long live r'n'r.

  • Does anybody know what chords he is using? sounds like a different tuning. Doesn't sound like G, Am, C/G or F.

  • Long live forJOE STRUMMER!The god ofrock!

  • this sounds a bit like american slang. the guitar, I mean.

  • @thetompenney1 yeah a little bit. the chords to american slang are a lot different but i can see where you're coming from.

  • Does anyone know what guitar hes playing?

  • anymore videos from that night?

  • I love this kid and this band..However, give credit where credit is due..Greg Dulli and the Afghan Whigs did the Train In Vain outro on their cover of Supermarket 10 years ago...It seems alot of these new bands were Whigs fans, which I'm hoping will spark a reunion

  • @dullizgod okay, but brain fallon isn't a fan of the clash because of the whigs.

  • @dullizgod yeah, if you follow the gaslight anthem, all Fallon talks about is Joe Strummer. They even have a song about him.

  • @thetompenney1 I know Brian is a Joe Strummer and Clash fan, therefore, he probabaly bought Burning London: A Tribute to The Clash 10 yrs ago with all alternative bands doing covers of Clash songs. The Afghan Whigs did the best cover which was Lost In The Supermarket with the Train In Vain Outro that Brian did..I would bet my life that is where he heard that particular version of Lost..I have been a Clash fan for 30 years/Whigs fan for 20 years/Gaslight for 3 years

  • @dullizgod oh yeah, that most likely is the case, I guess I just misunderstood haha

  • @thetompenney1 whih saong ius that

  • @thetompenney1 which song is that

  • @greatwhiteshara which song? Stand By Me is the outro if thats what you're asking

  • @thetompenney1 Outro's actually the the middle-eight from 'Train in Vain', also by the Clash.

  • @greatwhiteshara Lost in the Supermarket - The Clash

  • @shujogo haha i know who this song is i was there for this i couldnt figure out what song was written for joe

  • @thetompenney1 the song about joe strummer?

  • @greatwhiteshara I'da Called You Woody Joe

    Awesome show!

  • This was amazing and im pretty sure the ending part was Trian in Vain by the clash

  • Joe Strummer would be proud.

  • @theundone1 You mean Mick Jones.

  • @mresplendent technically joe wrote the song and gave it as a "gift" to mick, but yes mick should be proud too:D

  • @theundone1 True.

  • If you read this Brian thanks man, your music means so much to me and thousands of fans. Can't wait for the new record, roll on June 15th.

  • very cool band how understand music and how to play keep it going dudes

  • Wowzers.

Anyone out there think they can figure out what chords he's using? I'd love love love to know.

  • @laminatedcats Watch his fingers. Looks like C, G, A minor and F to me.

He uses the same chords in a few songs, so if you can play some of his other stuff it should be easy.

  • C major, A minor, F major but instead of barring it he just holds the B string on the first fret which is technically called an Fmaj7/C or just Fmaj7 and then C again, then G major. Repeated throughout. Hope this helps.

  • This is amazing!!

  • my day was just made!

  • this song (the clash version) has been on my playlist for the past week. Perfect timing and brilliant.

  • i was there

  • was there, dude is awesome.
