  • My favourite song off the Safe As Milk albulm probably; true crazy blues

  • .☮.¸¸.(¯`♥♫(♥♪(♥♫d(♥‿♥)b♫♥)♪♥)♫♥´¯).¸¸.☮.

  • Kakva muzika, ovo je potpuno genijalno. Captain, you are my revelation.

  • Willie the pimp :D thank you zappa for introducing me :D

  • Somehow by the sound of the music, I feel like Led Zeppelin could have done this...

  • @HannahVampire When The Leeve Breaks...thats what this reminds me of...

  • wow this is awesome.. just noticed captain beefheart and the doors sound pretty similar. at least this song

  • wow...

  • Yeah, but there's a bit of Blues structure to this early stuff, and you can understand

the lyrics, it's also a bit more melodical with a bit of a backbeat. He got weirder

and weirder, with more obtuse lyrics, and pretty disjointed rhythm and musical

    style.

  • factiry aint no place fo meh bossman let me be!

  • Primus (& Tom Waits & Captain Beefheart) Sucks!

  • @FredFerdberger

yeah, that'll help. but I think you should just listen to it some more. I needed to get used to his voice too when I discovered beefheart. and after a while I thought he has one of the greatest voices of all time, along with Tom Waits.

  • Copious amounts of intelligence would serve you better.

  • @3rdcoastnyucka Ha Ha Ha Ha Very droll.

Merely expressing my opinion. Not being rude. You are the one taking it personally like I just stabbed your grandfather.

  • Quality! :D

  • I just recently discovered this guy, my friend told me 'bout cap. beefheart. any songs i HAVE to hear/ favorite song?

  • @Thesexyjim

the whole Safe As Milk album is worth checking out, every singel songs of it. other favorite albums of mine: Mirror Man, Trout Mask Replica(bit hard to listen at first but it's great) and Bluejeans & Moonbeams. I don't have really favorite songs, just wole albums:P

  • electricity is my fave

  • Captain Beefheart and Alan Wilson of Canned Heat were THE blues in the 60's,no one could even come close

  • I see the obvious harmonica similarity, but I don't feel like Midnight Rambler is in any way a rip off.

  • beefheart music kicks zimmerman's ass.

  • wow, been a very long time to hear this, thanx for posting ^^

  • Hi I'm new to beefheart really, so I was wondering who is don? as mentioned by dylanfan and sparkyization? Cheers.

  • Don Van Vliet is beefheart's real name. (check wikipedia)

  • Actually he was born Don "Glen" Vliet and then changed it later on.

  • The Captain is a master of the blues.

  • almost sounds like eric burdon! this is cool i've never heard these guys!

  • Don is better than any blues band from the 60s. Along with Alan Wilson from Canned Heat i don't know anyone who touched the blues like they did.

  • i hear that

  • There you are children ! That's how it's done!

  • Yo Don! Remember AV Exposition Hall?

THAT was inspirational! (thumbs up smiley-icon inserted here)

  • Fucking Great!

  • this song is incredible

  • I like the harp in the song, done with a Sinei, just like songs as Mirrorman from the Mirror Man sessions! :D

  • What's a sinei? a type of mic?. I want to know how he got that classic tone.

  • To paraphrase a line from children's Cartoon record Captain Beaky:

the finest Animals in the Land..

    were Captain Beefheart

    and his Band

  • yes! great song, from great album! thanks. greetings from Poland.
