@chunder350 travelling faster than light STILL isn't the most feasible way of interstellar travel, simply because we do not know if creating wormholes are even practically possible. Instead, realistic space travel focuses on hibernation or perhaps culture-vessels that can sustain entire generations of people.

But anyways, it's all a bit moot, yes, since we are yet at an infant stage in space travels.

Seeing the Milky Way Galaxy made me think a little just now. Imagine I dunno, in a 100/1000/10000 years from now, some kid who's dad works at a Videogames Museum as a curator or something playing Mass Effect, he's gonna say something like this, either:

1. Those idiots thought the galaxy was dominated by Asari, Turians, Krogans, Salarians and believed that stations like the Citadel and Omega existed.... our ancestors were morons

I read a book a while back that stuck with me though. Fiction, Sci-fi, called Pushing Ice, Author was reynolds or something like that? Whole point of the books was that there would be thousands and thousands of inteligent star spanning civilizations in the galaxy, but that because of how spread out we all were, and how fast a civilization can collapse, we might never meet eachother. Only find the remains.

@Suhnaye I don't think that is true.Atleast a few civs.have to make it to type 2 or 3.You know,the law of big numbers.

The reason why we don't hear radio signals(according to some of the latest researches) is that they fade away into the background noise of the universe after a few lightyears.Higher civ.'s would use ftl coms anyway.We have no idea how to build an ftl com system yet.

I think they'll seek first contact when we're ready.Probably when we reach type 1 stage.

@CentauriShin Yeah I've seen that vid already :) I'd say at any time there are atleast a dozen active type 2 civs.out there.Nothing known to science can destroy a type 2(at that stage you're immortal with godly abilities)civ.so there might be many,many more.Type 2 eventually becomes type 3(galactic,like in star wars)

I'd say there must be some form of galactic government that organizes all these races and set common rules for them for example no intervention in leser races affairs.

He is correct, documentaries on space travel have scientist saying wormholes, or creating a "bubble" in space time (as in star trek). Are some of the more feasible ways to travel faster then light, without actually hitting the speed of light. We just need to know how to do it. Look up Dr. Michio Kaku.

@Marines835 His name is Legion. He isn't one geth, he's many (about 1,600) programs built inside of him. You get him during one of the main missions in ME2, but you can decide to give him to Cerberus or keep him. He also "worships" Shepard, and has been searching for him/her for 2 years. Shepard has a hard time trusting Legion at first, because of Saren and the Geth, but Legion isn't the typical Geth you fight.
