  • @electro257 Yes, the Roland VP-330 does do an excellent impression of the Sennheiser Vocoder. 'retrosound72' used to have a video demonstrating this with the song "Energy".

  • Fantastic work sir! Your musicality is also great! Lovely vocoder sound. I have been wanting to get one of these for years also the sennheiser vsm 201!

  • @xantone The EMS 5000, 3000, 2000, and 1000; the Synton Syntovox 221; the Bode 7702; and the Moog 16-Channel MBVO 327A all sound better!! Although the Sennheiser Vocoder VSM201 sounded the best when Mr. Neil Young used it for his 'Trans' album!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @simeoneukable Just ask 'intromix' if he agrees with me!! Or were you referring to Mr. Neil Young? Yes he DID use the Sennheiser, and NOT the Moog!!!

  • @FoolishDeamon

Haha, it sounded so much like it! Oh how I miss those days. I believe it comes on Nick Jr in the UK in the evenings, but I'll have to check. :)

  • Domo arigato Mr Roboto

  • This is actually just how Japanese people sound normally.

  • Please excuse my ignorance here, but I want to know if it makes any difference if you actually "sing" into the microphone? Does that affect the resulting sound?

  • @antoniodcz No, as the keyboard is changing the scales

  • @antoniodcz no it doesn't. I've used a similar vocoder and it makes no difference from just talking into it.

  • @antoniodcz .. sing into a vocoder? yes it'll affect the sound, but not pitch, of the vocal timbre, the style of the pronunciation, and also how you sing it personally. "dont record with it", record vocals then vox preferrably.

some who speak montone or dont sing end up sounding nowhere what they expected... blame the vocoder. if your vocoder has a line in, run a vocal take through it and play keys to suit.

ive owned Korg DVP-1, Roland VP-70, Electrix Warp Factory, all sounded fine as a vox.

  • Papillon de lumiere

  • The synth at 0:13 to 0:20 reminded me of Justice.

  • @BahBahHunter i already use the fl studios vocoder with my mic , but i want a real one :(

  • you expect me to remember? Think of the 70's. It was cool to not have any idea as to what was going on, ever, and I was the coolest. I probably traded down for a korg synth or something...

  • @arguestreet lol

  • i used to have one. dates back to the 70's

  • @arguestreet Used to?!? What happened to it?

  • how much did that cost?

  • 最後のビブラートは、パブリックプレッシャーの最後で「イエロ~マジックオ~ケストラで~ございます」というボコーダーサウンドだ。

  • great performance!!

  • japs steal white's inventions

  • 1:34 oh ok, this is in japan, haha. did they invent vocoder?

  • @LSD123DMT No. The vocoder was invented by Homer W. Simpson Dudley back in 1928.

  • Today's episode was brought to you by the letter K, for Kraftwerk.

  • This is soo sick!

  • All Your Base Are Belong To Us!!

  • LOL!!! this is funny and sing the song we are rockkstars by does it offend you yeah, and...i subbed

  • i love vocoders, i could play with one all day

  • HELP: 1:30 que cancion es???

  • LMAO RANDOM YMO

  • I was set on getting a microkorg, now i want a waldorf blofeld, but i want a microphone so i can do this. i was relieved to see this video cuz it was the only thing that had a vocoder not on a microkorg. is there a such thing as a vocoder mic i can just plug into the usb (of the blofeld)??? anyone?

  • Are you wanting a mic that vocodes, or a mic to plug into your Blofeld? I don't have a Blofeld, so I don't know if they can vocode, or not. I don't know if there are mics that can vocode on their own, but there are voice-changers. BUT they're toys and compared to a real vocoder...they're SHIT!!!

  • I have both but as far as I know the Blofeld doesn't has a Vocoder. De Vocoder in de microkorg is pretty nice actually, in my humble opinion ofcourse.

  • @CarlosECunningham

it's the "Roland Vocoder Plus VP-330" who makes this possible

    Not God! ....

Which God are you referring to anyway ?, you see..there's quite a few different ones out there.

  • I first come reconciled to thy brother in Jesus Christ name, Amen. Thank God for you because God made it possible. Thank you. I "love thy neighbor, as thyself."

  • lol

  • @CarlosECunningham and I'm gay. :)

  • this is strangely transfixing...

i for one, welcome our new synth overlords

  • this is funny to me.....anyone else???

  • yup

  • what is the song you play from 1:29-1:57?

  • feels kinda weird, when i wake up today i was singing the alphabet..hmm..

    what the fuck..

  • great sound indeed!

  • where did you learn your alphabet?!?!

    lol

  • @jubalate I think he might be Japanese. Maybe not but he does mention several things about Japan.

  • hahahahahahahaha.

  • UAHuahuhauahuahuahuaha

  • @jubalate

Just to let you all know - in Japan the alphabet song is taught like that. It is easier to sing without the "h,i,j,k,LMNOP" bit which goes warp speed. However, the last bit of the song that normally goes "Now I know my ABC, next time you can sing with me" gets changed to " Happy, happy I'm happy...." which this guy did NOT sing - a wise decision in my opinion.

  • @jubalate lol

  • @jubalate Fucking lol!

  • @jubalate XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Hallo ITALO DISCO FAN : Listen to music called LAZH MAN ! (on youtube)

  • The sound in the beginning resembles the intro of "Song To Sing When I'm Lonely" by John Frusciante! Don't you think? ;)

  • the first synth's came out in the late 1950's i've been told ;-)

  • Earlier than that, actually. The theremin is considered a synthesizer, and it was made in the late 20's.

  • wow your a great player!!

    those melodies were sugoi!!

  • cool!

  • It sounds like Kano, or Daft Punk... Man, this is a REALLY KICKASS VOCODER!

  • ロボットが居るさぁ〜☆

  • テクノポリスは必須ですね。

  • I musta have this

  • Wobbly ass stand

  • yeah I dont think I'd put the Roland on that stand

  • caal

  • Haha! Very funny and good demo! Awesome vocoder too! 5*

  • "明日があるさぁ〜"

    ボコダーでむちゃ格好いい!笑

  • YMO! nice

  • Great Voc.-Sound.

Where can I buy this Synthesizer?

  • This "Synthesizer" cames out around 1980!

  • 1:23 haha! you rule :D

  • I would say 1:58 did it for me.

  • That's how they sing it in Japan. This guy is great! ちょ おもしいろかった。

  • So it is in Denmark

  • you fail at the alphabet song...

  • I lolled.

  • you could prepare this before play you know ^^

  • hahaha way to butcher the ABCs

  • Super video`n Roland`s stuff! Arigatou gozaimasu!

  • Very nice and funny demonstration!

  • Maybe, it's a best sound of vocoders.

    VP-330 is forever!!

    I own VP-550.

  • dude, your vo-co-dah is saiko!!!

  • lol @ fucked up ABC song

  • You did the Disneyland Main Street Electrical parade!! Awesome!!

  • They used the Bode 7702 Vocoder

    vintagesynth. com/misc/bode7702.jpg

  • Now that is class.

  • Seconded.

  • I like how the vocoder sound!

    dj niro.

  • Oh Superman!

  • you think he can't sing it because he displaced a single 8th note? for real?

  • um...japanese is his native language...so no, just as he doesn't quite know the ABC song, i highly doubt you can recite Iroha (the japanese equivalent), so don't be so ignorant the next time you rip on him

  • Anyone who isn't an idiot understands that he's Japanese by two reasons. 1, He sings pretty advanced songs in Japanese. He even play YMO instead of Kraftwerk. 2, look at his profile, he's Japanese!

    ass...

  • 1:51 to 1:57 is great! That little chord progression really suits the vocoded voice.

  • lol

  • so do you talk, or sing.. like, do you have to sing the note you want to?

  • you just got to talk and press the right keys for the melody

  • alright cool, i wasnt sure. awesome, i really want one.

  • Look up KorgMicrokorg XL, Korg R3, there are also software vocoder plgins. Lots of vocoder stuff, you can look around here on youtube.

  • What if you set the settings to piano sound, and you sing notes into the mic? Will it play your voice as piano keys?

  • yes but you dont have to sing. the right notes come from the keyboard you just form the tone with your voice.

    sorry for my bad english.

  • I know it does that. I'm just asking if you can like 'reverse' the effect.. So you don't hear what you say, you don't use the keys, you only sing notes into the microphone, and it converts yor voice into some crazy synth sound. Can it do that?

    your English is fine, right?

  • Comment removed

  • You can sing or talk, I am not certain but I think even if you sing only the note you're playing on ther synthesizer will come out of the speaker

  • The pitch depends on the key(s) you are holding down. So the actual singing (at least what comes out of the speakers) is done by the synth. The words (c.q. pronunciation) by you, that use the mic.

  • Can i have it? :D

Where can i find a nice one for not a lot of money?

  • Hello, great sound!! I love Vocoders :) I've posted tis video on switchedonsynthesizer.blogspot . com

  • amazing. I want one
