@charzarg Saltpeter is basically Potassium Nitrate (KNO3) which is used in fireworks, rockets and as gunpowder. But nowadays nitrate compounds have taken its place.

total war (at least the 1 I have, rome) is nothing compared to this game. In total war everything is based on combat and its a system where everything is uneccesarily complicated and does a poor job at doing everything except the actual battle (which gets repetetive). Its is real time and if zoomed in real sized (not 2 the point of total war though) AOE has everything total war doesnt have, and u can have a fun light experience or an extremely deep campaign trying 2 conquer. Its so awesome

age of empires 3 is an RTS. however its makers have killed it with max population (including stuff like cannons) of just 200. In Rome TW you can have battles of about 14,500 units on a decent PC. Empire total war is even better but you need a really good PC. Out of AoE 3 and RTW I vastly prefer Rome, not least because Rome gives you decent historical information.

Just get a few mods to change your pop limit, you can even do it yourself.

It's simple enough, and you can create limitless armadas, armies, whatever you like, just watch the more units you have the slower the game gets.

AOE III Made the elephants too small. The flail elephant was only juvenile-sized and the mahouts and howdahs need to grow up a little more. AOM elephants were slightly more accurate.

u see? AOE looks too much like Age of Mythology and i dint really like AOM. in AOM the graphics look like they had huge plans to improve their graphics but then kinda stopped half way. And in AOE III it looked like they went about another 1/5 of the way towards awesome stellar graphics but then stopped.

@K7D7cars The Dutch have banks which make indefinite coin. It's especially good when you have a saloon to hire many mercs. That's my edge with the Dutch. Not even the Chinese can counter that.
