Once someone has a name and is well-known with years of experience, the name is yours. Everyone is supposed to come up with their own name. If you feel it's ok according to your very own analogy, then it'd be ok for a new rapper to come out today and call themself Eminem, since he established the name as a rapper but there was the candy M&M's before him.

MC Juice, Juice, J.U.I.C.E., J.U.ICE, etc. He flips is around in different ways. There is no difference in having the "MC" in the name.
