Am I the only Tim Minchin fan who can't really stomach this? This is just a hastily assembled bunch of cliched analogies with very little holding them together except the further cliche of drowning in the deep. There is only one piece of self-referential irony in the song (one of Minchin's trademarks), and that is the "overuse of metaphor" line.... and he even gets that wrong, he's overusing similes. And to make matters worse, the music is bombastically pedestrian. It sounds like Taylor Swift.

if you have the song,... you could say, I have drowned by tim minchin.. (inferring that you drowned near him) although truthfully stating you own the song.

You know, I only just discovered this song a day or 2 ago, and it's just beautiful. Its nice to seem Tim doing something different like this and makes you really appreciate his voice, even more, if that's possible! It's such a musically pretty song :) It's one of those songs you keep playing because you can't believe the magic you've just heard.

The meaning of this song "IMO" is that 'your love' is a tragic part of life that is unavoidable, and that 'he' might as well just accept it.

Tim, this is such a beautifull song.....i am a really big fan and was wondering when you are next doing a show near west berkshire and me and my friends would all love to go as we missed you at the reading festivel as we did not know that you where preforming there......we only found out the day after you preformed.......we were depressed for weeks....much lovexxx
