Go mika 20 I totally 100% agree with you chik!!! Its not about luck, at all, its the surprise factor, and for me also the tradition factor but mostly the 'WOW" or tear that says how stunning one truly looks!!!!!
Mainly it's not always about bad luck. I think the groom should be surprised to see his bride-to-be walk down the isle in the dress she chose, making this the very first time for him to see it and go "Oh wow...that's the woman I'm marrying."
I follow the tradition myself. Not because of superstition, which of course is what most people believe, but mainly to surprise him.
@laidida western tradition... 0_0 i thought it came somewhere else.... I live in Canada, I know alot of poeple who let their groom see it. non of them had bad luck.... :P I think some traditions are just... starnge
@EpicSoulChick Western tradition doesn't imply North America, which is a melting pot of several cultures. Western means European. and when people talk about the eastern culture, it's about Asia.
While I personally wouldn't want my future husband to see my dress until the wedding, I know that other couples don't adhere to that tradition and I'd have to respect their opinions.

I'd rather put this amount, thousands of Dollars spent
on a dress,
toward contributions to a
homeless shelter, food bank,
eco. foundation, etc. Oh, those POOR brides for whom money is no
object . . . Oh, the decisions. The dilemma. The decisions. The dilemma.
Must be tough on those brides.

The whole "bad luck if the groom sees the dress" is western tradition. So it's not something that everyone should have to hold up to.

debbieakabubbles 2 years ago 8
Yes, and honestly I think it's sooo STUPID when grooms see the dress. Dont the brides wnat to suprise the groom.
BirkinG1rl 2 years ago 2
i agree its nice to respect what kind of wedding the groom wants but the dress is yours

@debbieakabubbles No, that's just a silly superstition.
