You can see at 2:10 that CLU was hurt by his trip down memory lane. Flynn said they would change the world together. CLU did everything Flynne wanted and in the end felt betrayed when Flynn chose to give refuge to the ISO's. CLU, forced to take steps to rid the systems of imperfections and having to do it alone without his creator, Hurt him. Why? Because, like a son, he wanted nothing more than to make his "father" proud.

I'm not saying what he did was right.That was CLU's mode of thought.

In many ways Clu was very justified. Hours on the Grid are minutes in the real world, and Flynn left for probably what felt like months at a time. Clu felt like he could perfect the system with out Flynn and felt betrayed by his own maker. :-/

I read it was felt the an older man moves differently from when he was young, so they wanted a younger actor to play his body. Kinda cool when you think about it. Jeff showed him how he would have done the scene.

i always saw CLu as lucifer during the creation and how he saw things differently from God. i dont think theyve ever seen geometry on that level either. the apple. the book. the cushion. the Chandelier

Notice how clu is apparently the first being on the grid and witnessed all creation. so was lucifer, the first being to awake,perfect in every way. the ISO's are like humans "profound and naive" with "free will". Clu(lucifer) sees the ISO's(humans) as imperfections, when the ISOs(humans) become the object of kevin's(god) atention and love, clu(lucifer) refuses to serve kevin(god) anymore.

People have slammed Tron Legacy, but then, who gives a shit what critics think? xD It's such a fantastic showcase to technology. I mean, look at CLU! They've CGI'd Jeff Bridges - VERY convincingly - back to what he looked like 20 years ago!!!!!

@RobinApprentice Actually clu is not bad, he is only doing what kevin told him, to create a perfect system. So he basically destroys everything that he think that it's not perfect.

@bouchandre CLU was created by Kevin, I think he is his greatest creation, given the ability to think and the mandate to create the "perfect system." Things happened that he did not anticipate such as Flynn's apparent abandonment and the discovery of the ISOs. CLU made decisions, and for that we call him the "bad" guy. I can only imagine the immense internal frustration inside CLU, he must wonder "why was I created?" and "was this my fault?"
